It’ll make life easier forever and keep you from overrunning the top wormscrew as it wears! I'll have to look how to do that. I'm still looking at the instructions and now that the camper is on the truck, I am dismantling the interior now to access the wings. The disappointment is that as I pull up the Reflectix that I had sealed down with aluminum duct tape, all the wood is wet. And I don't thing it is due to leakage as much as it is from condensation. I think that I will re-think how I have insulated the camper. This may have led to my jack demise... I do not see the damp/wet in areas where I didn't have sealed tight with reflect and tape. I have turned on the furnace and cracked the upper vent to heat up the camper and drive out the moisture. Hopefully soon can begin installing the new Stablelift Garry Garry K Wife + 4 kids Retired Military Family.... Alway's on the move.... 2002 F350 CCSB 5.4 6spd 4x4 in AK 1966 Avion C-10 Truck Camper |

garryk6 wrote: Garry , I think you are correct about the condensation and reflectix . Check under the mattress also . I find that the interior aluminum skin exasperates the problem in cool/cold damp conditions . As a side note , I just found out my grandson , who is just finishing up Coast Guard. basic , is being stationed in Kodiak .

Just realize Kodiak is destination not a thoroughfare. |

Fellow Avionistas, believe it or not, Argo, the all aluminum camper, is getting close to being finished! Electrical in, propane in, plumbing is in process... I would greatly value your opinions and expertises on two issues. First, how much water to you carry in built-in tank(s) and how much do you use on a daily basis. Second, Argo’s truck is a 2013 3/4 ton 4WD Ford diesel. I’m buying new tires. Opinions about brands? And is there merit in going from 245/17s to 265/17s? The latter are an inch wider. Is that a worthwhile inch to gain in stance and surface contact? Thanks. Pics coming soon. Muley Point this spring!, |

I have a 40 gallon tank . Best investment as we dry camp mostly. And we have a recirculating toilet that does not use potable to flush with. Again saves potable. Our grey water is only about 15 fur now but going to have a second 15 gallon tank made soon. Hope this helps. Garry

I will try again when I get home today. Thank you so much! No worries, whenever you can get to it, I know "normal life" always comes first. All is good. 79 Bruiser Sir, I've got the exact truck kit I needed & wanted, along with the assorted other parts needed (interior, appliances, & more) and am ready to make a wooden buck to begin building the 1/25th scale replica of my old C-11. Do you still have those measurements you took and would you mind posting them when you have time? If forgotten, I needed the overall length of the cab-over (upper-bed) section, the total length of the rear section (both from the lower-front "mid" window/wall area, forward of the factory water tank compartment). The overall height from the truck bed (or camper floor) to top, the overall width, and the rough depth of the rear overhang (below the truck bed surface). With those, I should be able to "guesstimate" all the rest. Thank you! |

So, after over a year of analysis paralysis and picking away at problems, we've done something a little unorthodox with our Avion...we extended the nose! So far, it has not snapped in two. So, fingers crossed, it won't any time soon.![]() ![]() ![]() ROAM LAB Digital nomads on a perpetual road trip 1970 Avion C11 truck camper (renovation In progress) ![]() |

But, presuming that they are the same as mine (1970 C-11) then it would be overall length of the cab-over: 52" total length of the rear section: 133" height from the truck bed to top: 80" overall width: 92" rough depth of the rear overhang: 32" (I'm measuring from the where the wheel wells opening to the far rear) |

It's not a big deal, but that last measurement, the "depth of the rear overhang", was to be from the truck bed floor to the bottom of the fiberglass cover at the very bottom rear of the camper, under the bathroom (under the bathroom floor, black-water-tank, closet, etc). Looking at my old C-11 photos, I'm guessing it's roughly 8 to 10 inches deep? |
