We're at the Southeast Truck Camper rally in the Smoky Mountains. Good to learn we have another Avionista. Trout should explain the meaning of Muley Point where we hope to gather soon. BTW who had the Avion at Tall Pines rally last week? Was that Silver? ![]() |

Tall Pines on the Delmarva? Wasn't me. I was invited but unable to attend due to work. My camper has been off the truck for a while now. Wonder who it was? 1968 Avion C-11 1993 Dodge D250 LE Cummins |

Pacific Rim, as I perused Searchtempest this AM, I discovered a Cayo Motorvator on the Bend OR CL. I bring this to your attention for a couple of reasons, based on my own long journey with Argo, the all-aluminum camper. Two and a half years into this project - to get an Avion on the back of a 4WD truck, I have found out many interesting things. One is that Cayo, in building the Motorvator, realized that the camper would outlast the van. Consequently they made the rig such that the camper can be removed fairly easily and put onto a new van or truck chassis. You can buy a new van with an open back cab or a truck in the cab/chassis configuration from a new car dealer. With some tinkering, you could have a full function, specifically designed, class C camper with the stylish Avion/Cayo body on a brand new vehicle. Were I to undertake my project again, that's what I'd do. But then, I travel with a wife and two GSDs and we are convinced we need access back and forth, from within. Food for thought as you pursue your Avion vision/fantasy... Onward! |

I had put the C10 on the F350 for the summer, but last weekend went to drive to the hardware store and the wipers had quit on the truck... So last week the camper came off, and since I am traveling around the state for work, had to drop of the truck at the shop. Hopefully they get it fixed before i return to Kodiak thursday. As I type I am pulling in on the ferry from Whittier to Cordova to pick up a bucket truck. Spent the weekend with my lovely wife in Anchorage, but dropped her off at the airport before driving the Whitier. I'll spend only five hours here to inspect buy and load the bucket truck on the ferry before another 6.5 hours back to Whittier. Then it's back to anchorage Monday night, meet with the Corporate bosses Tuesday, then back to Whittier Wdensday AM to load two trucks on the ferry then a 22.5 hour ferry ride to Kodiak to get home Thursday at noon. Hope everyone else is doing well!! Garry out and about in Alaska Garry K Wife + 4 kids Retired Military Family.... Hello all! Glad to see this little section of the internet is still thriving. My project has been on the back burner as I came across a deal on some land I couldn't pass up. It will be paid for by the end of the year, and things should resume. I hope everyone has been well! |

So after what seems to have been forever, going at a snails pace when compared to 'Sliver'. I am happy to report that the interior is just about complete. ![]() the back splash is stainless ![]() on the rear wall I mounted tongue and grove ceder boards ![]() Laminate flooring ![]() ![]() the electrical is all complete including a new controller and some lighting. all fused through a 12 volt control panel. Plumbing is complete and functional. It has actually turned out better than I hoped, I am very pleased. Next will be sealing up the exterior, roof coating, window seals, and configuring some sort of exterior gray water storage. |

Forget the pace, just look at those results. I love it, came out great. The cedar t+g is a great idea, sweet look, light weight. And then theres the stainless steel. Excellent work!
