Hello Avionistas, I am the proud new owner of a 1968 C11 purchased last month. With ALL the wood rotted, just loading The 'Silver Pompadour' on to my truck was a bit hairy. I have spent the last month absorbing the massive amount of information on this forum while replacing the rotted wood. What an invaluable resource you have compiled here. Thank you all. I have taken hundreds of pictures of the process and will post some once it is too cold outside for Marine epoxy and wood glue to setup. That should be soon here in NE PA 1968 Avion C-11 1993 Dodge D250 LE Cummins |

Welcome Silver, to what may be the smallest and most enthusiastic group on the rv.net board! You have lots to look forward to... We look forward to following your progress. It's a long and bumpy road with lots of potholes and detours along the way, but I'm told by reliable sources that the view from Muley Point makes it all worthwhile. Onward! Dick |

Michael111, I was perusing Avions on Craigslist last night and saw your camper for sale... I am sorry you're moving on. You have brought some interesting ideas to this forum. It's very hard to stay the course if the restoration is major. Good luck on your next project. Dick |

Welcome Silver....I am just a few steps ahead of you on my rebuild. This weekend was a major milestone for me, I finally got the wood installed in the wings. They were treated with CPES and epoxy. I have added new L brackets and reinforcement wood strips horizontally between the ribs in the channels, screwed down into the two layers of 3/4 ply. The Overhead bunk wood will be installed next. Its an exciting feeling now that things are going to be going back in, instead of out. To echo what everyone else has said, its uphill all the way, but don't get discourage. Just eat the Elephant one bite at a time. |

I realized it was a year ago when i last worked on it. If id does not sell then i will just wait for the next opportunity to work on it. I am not giving it away I know all the systems that i want to install and would be ready to push the order button if there would not be the work thingy in the way ![]() We will see what happens, i definitely learned a lot from this forum I would love to see this getting used and not just sitting around Cheers |

Thanks for the warm welcome. The camper wassold to me as a '69 C15. No such animal. Upon reading and decoding the SN FH 115 I learned its actually a 68. I think I am running neck and neck with you Rastaman, the new floor and wings are in, the new bulkhead and overhung bunk are built and awaiting installation. Trying to upload a photo |
