Topic: What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ?

Posted By: DrJoeB on 11/20/10 12:28pm

Since I've gotten the new B I've done the following

1. Repalced the GPS system and stereo with a custom Pioneer install including new backup camera, amps, speakers, sat radio and everything needed to go from a piss poor system to outstanding one that rocks and rolls.

2. Had all the windows done with a custom heat reducing tinting
3. Had a custom windshield sun reflector made
4. Bought a custom light weight trailer color matched to the B

Things to Do this winter before the seasons begins
1. Rip out bogus home theater replace with a custom install with blue Ray and iPod integration.

2. Have granit counter tops sealed and polished
3. Have custom draws made for under the rear seat.
4. Have rear and from table remade into maple from formica
5. Install fog lights.
6. Have all plastic painted to match unit

Last night, I ran the fridge on AC and plan on switching to gas while shopping in Columbus OHIO today Christmas shopping. I am bringing a small TV (with converter box)to try out the antenna for the first time.

If my babe wears me out shopping, off I go to have a beverage and hopefully can get a game on the TV. GO BUCKS !

The antenna worked great in Columbus! Watched a few minutes of a game. I gotta get a flat screen digital TV with DVD player that can on run on AC or DC.

I did run the TV and converter box on this which will do around 4 hours.

Today I ran the engine and exercised the generator. I was rather sad because we only used the B about 10 days this past year. I kept thinking we would make it out for another trip but no luck. DH and I will used it as a bedroom over Thanksgiving. Our East Coast kids and grandkids are coming and they can have the house and we will sleep in the B. I also removed all canned goods, coke, bottled water etc. Last year I forgot to do this. An unusually hard freeze came and the stored coke froze, breaking the cans. When things thawed out, there was one big mess to clean up.

One trick I learned here was to store freeze-bustables in large zip lock baggies. For carbonated drinks, store the baggie itself upright, and not quite totally sealed so it can vent the carbonation. I like this since it lets me keep the Tiger stocked with basics. But I admit I haven't actually put it to a real test; even 12 degrees didn't burst any cans.

Just ordered Alcoa aluminum alloy wheels for my sprinter. Waxed the whole thing today - ouch.
