Topic: What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ?

Posted By: vstreano on 12/08/11 03:12pm

Just finished putting the bedding on the king size bed in the back of the 2000 Xplorer we bought last month. Considering de-winterizing the rig and taking a short shake down cruise to be sure everything works, then a two week trip in January to S. Cal from our home in NW WA.

Ran the Genny and all the appliances except the hot water heater of course. (furnace, stove, reefer and AC.)

Started packing things to get ready for the snowbird trip south at the end of the month.

Checked the air in the tires and checked the house battery. All looks good!

I have gone out and started mine every 2 or 4 weeks in the winter but Ive allways left the battery hooked up.This year Im going to use the key device it has and shut ( disconnect) the battery off and see what that does and then turn it on when I start it to see if it makes any difference in the power drain it gets- there is a small solar panel on it too (it will not disconect when the battery does) but we can get really cold here- beyond the panels ability to keep up.

Ran the genny and wrapped Reflectix, using hook and loop tape, around the front of the furnace to seal a draft. Should help to keep it warmer inside.

Just bought my gently used PW two weeks ago, changed windshield, bought two rear hubcaps, painted the bumper, one small area of fiberglass by the step was scraped off, so DH put sheet metal with three smooth headed screws and painted her flat black like the bumpers and step protectors and is great, changed antenna and added digital converter for tv. All is in great working order on other appliances, tanks, genny etc.

Loving it!!!! Have a super day everyone!!!

I stayed in my Leisure Travel Van last night in Minneapolis. The outside temp. got down to 5 degrees F. I closed off the bedroom area and used two small under desk type electric heaters. I was happy with how comfortably warm it was.

The monthly winter routine: brushed off the snow, exercised the generator using an electric heater, checked around for leaks or anything unusual.

Made and installed sliding draws in the cabinet below the sink

Used the Center Under mount Drawer Slide, instead of one center under mount drawer slide I used 2 for each draw.

Made what I call Jersey Barrier's for each shelf, able to store small items on the side of each sliding draw allowing the draws to operate freely with no interference.

Beautiful sunny day and fifty degrees. Drove up to the next county with the generator going and the heat pump going full blast for load. Every month, one hour at least under a good load. And the RT needs to be driven at least that often as well. I do about half the miles on the Interstate, come back on country roads so I am stopping and going at a lot of intersections so the tranny goes through the gears, the brakes get used, etc.

Also, I always run the AC for at least ten minutes to keep the system in good shape.

I uncovered my B to take it to be re registered. and I will get a brake job and gas it up and add Fuel stable and recover it-something I realized today was that by covering it my solar panels were of no use ( Duh )I put a second post in DIY asking for possible solutions to that problem
