Finished sanding and cleaning the doghouse and put it back in the van. Will pad and cover it with naugahyde and do the door panels at the same time when I get some more time and $. I also removed my current range hood because I won one with a fan and light on EBay that is on the way! Pics will be at my 77 Dodge restoration thread after I get the new hood. |

Yesterday, took the RoadTrek to our granddaughters outdoor wedding and outdoor picnic reception. I was in charge of making hand crank, home made ice cream with the young kids. We used the RT to change from our wedding attire into our picnic attire. Used the freezer for the food/ice cream stuff etc. rinsed the salt off the ice cream making equipment with the outside shower and oh yea, the toilet came in handy too.

I replaced my gauge cluster, which will hopefully result in a working speedo (haven't tested it yet. ) While i was in there i upgraded the dash illumination to LED bulbs, I chose a soft blue glow, like my VW dash. I also finished the stereo upgraded to a dvd unit, and hardwired in a dock for my sat radio. And I started the installation of my propane water heater for a shower system, by running the gas line. I found I was way out of practice in my flare making abilities, but eventually got it right with no leaks.. ![]() Eric 92 Coachmen Class B, Dodge chassis The War Wagon... https://www.facebook.com/BedraggledClassBCampers ![]() |

I finally got rid of the Clarion DVD player that never worked reliably (kept freezing more and more). Instead, I installed a small and simple Sony DVPSR510H DVD player on top of the TV cabinet. In the opening where the Clarion was sitting I placed the digital-to-analog OTA signal converter. I had to drill a few holes in hidden places to reroute some cables. No more dangling wires and connecting/disconnecting. I still have to secure the units so that they don't move or fall off. I wanted to spend the minimum since we don't use the system very much.

Exciting day in the B! Spent the weekend volunteering at the Idaho Rally and camped- Fridge went out sadly, not cooling and on the way home the right front tire shed 1/4 of its tread at 60 MPH!!!! Had to use the bottle jack to put the spare on and aired it up with a small jump box/compressor my sister bought as an Xmas present. So changed a flat today on the way home from camping ![]() |

Went to the local rv superstore, and decided its not so bad to have to spend another grand on my old van this week to fix the differential (unexpected project setback.) After looking at a newer excel and a trovato, both awesome, i got a few more ideas for updates and i'll save 96k...![]() |

What I did to my Class B this spring: Removed dinette/bed seats temporarily to soon replace vinyl and carpet. Cleaned wall area that now had easy access. Removed old room divider and sewed and installed new one made out of light sage Sears drape with blockout backing. Have 3 more curtains for remaining windows - all old curtains have been removed and will be used as patterns. Removed and painted (yellow) medicine cabinet in wet bath. Still need to reinstall. Decorated inside with vinyl shopping bag in bright patterns glued and peaking out from the bright yellow (something to wake me up in the a.m. LOL). Removed old dirty insulation and carpet that had been in bed area. Bought large insulation roll (Reflux? forgot name - silver stuff R7 I think) and a huge roll of sage upholstery material. Will use duck tape, material tapes and glues, etc. to improve insulation and create a cleaner environment. Put $2k into a new transmission mount and some engine work. Two thumbs up from the mechanic who told test drove it for days through the Colorado mountains. He said he believed the transmission had been previously rebuilt so I went home and looked through the old papers from the previous Oregon owner and sure enough, 2004. Now the mount is new as well. Put in a new Optima house battery. Had a new Fantastic Vent Fan installed. Scraped some of the old brown stripes off. Will not have painted but will do some touch up myself. Maybe I'll do some murals on it one day. Removed old rough stripe down length of aluminum runners and will clean up runners and put new stripe (rough sandpaper strips) down. Bought new water intake hookup. Got refrigerator checked. $250 to remove it, $1300 to replace it. I left it because we might sell it and there are so many choices to make the new owner should make it and not pay for my choice. If we do keep it we will remove it because we want to put an icebox there. Since end of spring it has rained nearly every day and I haven't been able to work on it since. Right now I'm organizing all the parts I've got to finish it. I've had two people inquire about my selling it and one I never answered and the other I told him $16k and he is still interested. That said, I love my camper and it is my everyday car. BUT, we also bought an Xterra and plan to get a light weight trailer so and take off across the US so at some point the camper has to go. Just when probably depends on when we find a trailer - so far we don't like anything well enough to give up the camper. Currently I have an ongoing conversation with self trying to make up my mind LOL. 1989 Dodge Xplorer Class B |
