Habs97 wrote: ![]() Anyone knows how much weight the bumper of my 31BHPR can hold? I would like to install a bike rack on it. Secondly, what's the best rack type to use, hanging or platform? Thanks! I have no idea of the exact number but it's usually around the total of "don't even think about it." If you really want one back there (our old camper), have a shop reinforce the bumper to the frame by welding. The RV dealers I've worked with charge around $350 for parts and labor. We have a hanging rack that I had purchased years before we got a camper. If you go this route, buy the best you can. Several people have had bumpers fail, but many others have had their rack fail. We've had the same softride for many years and miles and it's still solid. If we didn't have the current rack, I'd probably go with a platform style. It seems like there would be less strain. Although we've never had a problem, we're kinda asking for it(; Our Adventures Me '77 DW '78 DD '04 DS '07 Yellowstone + more Trip Report 2011 F150 4x4 Ecoboost 6.5 SCREW 3.73 Max Tow 2011 Lacrosse 296BHS video tour Hensley Arrow |

As a passionate cyclist who owns some pricey bikes I spent a lot of time looking at racks and options for carrying bikes. In the end I decided that a rear bumper rack was just not for me. I have seen many people who are lots handier than me make there own frame bracing mods and welding in a receiver hitch below the rear bumper that I would trust but I would hate to pay a welding shop to do all of this work and I have to assume that any frame welding will kill any frame warranty we may have. So....... My first choice was a rack that mounts to the trailer tongue and goes above the propane tanks. Pricey again but below is a link. Tongue mount rack link Another option is a rack mounted on a receiver at the front of the truck. Many people like that option but many others say that it interferes with headlights and that it can effect the handling of the truck. In the end I did this.... ![]() 2020 GMC Canyon 2022 NoBo 19.2 |

We just picked up our 2011 Bullet Premier 31BHPR, and are kind of disappointed. We really liked some of the options on the 2010, like built in vac, hidden spice rack, and the ext bike rack lock system, but was told at delivery that Bullet no longer offers these options on the 2011. My salesman called Keystone while I was sitting there and was told that they put them on the 2010 to "test the waters" with what they called the comfort package. After my dealer ordered 10 units, all with the "comfort pack" they all came in without it. Other than the aforementioned hick-up, the trailer was great, and pulled very well behind my 2009 Silverado 1500HD and a 10,000lb equilizer hitch.

Most all of the 2011's that were ordered over the winter did include the comfort package. I was told it was a off season promo package. Gary is right. My 2011 also had the comfort package. It's one of the things that made me jump, knowing there wasn't many out there. One thing I've learned through this whole process that atleast in my experience that many in the RV business are not that well informed. My service manager did not know that to manually operate the slide you needed a flexible shaft that was provided by Keystone. I was also told that I could not hookup the Max Brake to my trailer. Don't be disappointed cause you didn't get the hidden spice rack. Our normal spice bottles won't fit in it standing up!

Considering the Bullet Premier does not have a diamond plate to protect from rocks debris, do any of you use a guard on your tow vehicule or any other option to protect the TT?

We ordered our a few weeks ago, and it had the comfort package thrown in when we ordered it. That was a huge selling point for the wife and me also. I guess its time for a phone call to the salesman.

That was the thing with us also, the comfort package. Dont get me wrong, its not a huge deal, but we ordered it, and then after it finally came in, we were told that they no longer offer it. Heck, Bullet doesnt even offer any of stuff as upgrades to buy. It just kind of disapointed my wife, and if momma ain't happy.....

Comfort package or not your going to have a great time and thats all that matters. It's camping after all. In fact if I had the option I would have left one of the bigger features of the package. I hate the folding dinette table. It is just to low. Give me back the standard pedestal mount table. |
