The rug looks like it was a factory option! Nice job. I now have another item on my to do list before our first campout in March ( besides adding a roof vent in the bedroom for more light ). 2014 Heartland 305RW Road Warrior 2012 Ford F250 Lariat |

We went back and forth on the 28RLPR and your floorplan. I liked the large open rear living room, and the carpet looked cozy for those cold rainy days. This was part of my inspiration for the bedroom carpet. ![]() Greg and J Ben - Yellow Lab. Charley - Red Lab 2018 Keystone Bullet Premier 30RIPR 2016 Nissan Titan XD SL 5.0 ![]() |

OK, as promised... Step 2 of winter mods complete... Turned pantry shelves into slideout pantry. Used 2 pairs of full slide drawer hardware rated at 100 lbs/pair. For those that care... Weight of stock shelves/support brackets = 5 lb X 3 = 15 lbs. Weight of this unit = 23 lbs with all hardware and shelf unit. The difference is approximately same weight as rum bottle.. Working on lightening that up right now ![]() ![]() ![]() Stock pantry that you can't reach to the back of...... ![]() New slide out shelf unit.. Now that is cool! Never thought about making the whole thing slide out like that.

Thanks guys, I thought of having each shelf slide out but that would have meant twice as much hardware... Anyway, it's all done now.. I MIGHT attach the door to the actual sliding unit but then I'd have to worry about making sure it can't slide out going down the road. The way it is now the door will still hold the unit from sliding out on those realy bumpy roads (as well the as self-closing slide hardware). Time will tell... is it summer yet?? |

gregrc75 wrote: ![]() I have always thought that travel trailers with carpet in the bedrooms looked and felt cozier. So, I added my own. I just got a 5x8 bounded area rug and cut it to size. I also made a cut out for the heater vent. Cost only 30.00 for the rug. I didn't vacuum before taking the pics so please ignore the fuzz, it looks better now! haha. ![]() A really great idea about the carpet. I imagine it helps with the cooler nights! I just used wood 'fillers' behind the slide hardware because I didn't want to cut the lip of the pantry and really mess with the design just in case it didn't work out. The way it is now if the whole thing doesn't work out, I put everything back the way it was and only have screw holes to fix. Not that I don't trust the carpenter's workmanship ![]() Picture, without shelf unit installed.... ![]() * This post was edited 02/21/12 06:39am by SabreCanuck * |
