Topic: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Posted By: Martyn on 03/29/22 10:12am

Hi FOOFS! We are going to do a big trip from Panama City Beach up into Ontario in late July, early August. On our way home our trip will pass through Waynesboro, Georgia - where the Old Fella Memorial is. Can someone give me its exact location in Waynesboro?

Thanks!

If you make it to the park to see the Old Fella statue, any chance you could share some pics with the rest of us. It has been many years since any of us have seen pictures of the the statue and the beautiful surrounding area.

Thank you.

There was also a painting of Richard with Old Fella that was donated and is hanging in Waynesboro. I don't remember if it's in the Library or City Hall... if anybody else remembers.

I am 99% sure it's the library. I don't remember going into City Hall.

I sold the RV a couple years ago to live like a “normal” person. Now I have a new car and an itch for a roadtrip. You’ve planted a seed. Hmmmm.

Where in Waynesboro is the Old Fella Burke County Animal Rescue? I’ve sent them a few checks over the years but all I have is a P. O. Box.

Took some searching but I found it:

1459 Bates Rd., Waynesboro, GA 30830

I was able to get the front seats out of the motorhome this weekend. The passenger seat was easy but the drivers seat was a pain. The driver seat is a power seat and there was no way to unhook the wiring without cutting the 12 volt lines. Not a big deal as there is plenty of slack on the wires but I am going to put a connector on it when I reinstall so if I ever have to pull the seat again, I won't have to cut wires.

The drivers seat is right in front of a slide and there wasn't much room to work on getting the seat out. I am going to put a lawn chair or something when I am ready to re-install so I can pull the motorhome out of the garage where I can put the slide out. Will make re-installation much easier.

I will be dropping off the chairs at Wade RV which is located at LazyDays in Tampa. They said it would take 1-2 weeks to get the chairs reupholstered.
