Topic: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Posted By: Toolguy5 on 10/04/19 04:27pm

We took Pickles back to the vet this morning. An orthopedic surgeon looked at her and could not feel any damage. After she came back from the exam she seamed to perk up. Patty took out to the yard while I waited for the Dr. and Pickles finally urinated. We got her to eat something with her pills.
She is still nervous has has pain and starts to limp every now and then.
We did decide to leave and are at Hocking hills in Ohio right now.
Dr. Said we needed to give the pills a chance to work and we knew that but going almost 24 hours without urinating started to worry me.
She ate some rice and Hamburg when we arrived and took her pills.
We will keep her rested the next few days before moving on.

I sure hope Pickles gets better soon. My male Papillon Monty blew out his knee a few years ago and he ended up having to get surgery to repair his knee. A year after the surgery, he blew out his other back knee! It wasn't as bad and it healed on it's own after several weeks. My old Jack Russel Murphy hurt one of her back knees about 5 years ago and hobbled around for a few weeks but it healed.

We are praying for Pickles and are looking forward to meeting her in Sevierville in a couple of weeks.

My friends dad passed away last night. Its been a really bad day for me today as he was like a father to me. He and his family are wonderful people and they are family to me. My heart breaks though because, unless something happened recently, he was not saved and I ache for his soul. I was up most of the night last night grieving and am really tired right now.

I am so looking forward to Sevierville and am getting excited about seeing some people already making their way to Tennessee. I just wish I could get there sooner but I am hoping that most are still there on Saturday and Sunday. I won't get there until mid afternoon on Saturday the 19th.

Good morning everyone. Burch sorry for your loss. Good friends are hard to come by and even harder to lose.

Dan hope Pickles is doing okay. I am hoping the leaves are turning color in Tennessee so we will get to see beautiful Fall colors. Things here are going okay. My leg is some what better this morning. The church is having Octoberfest today with a car show and other activities. Sue is going to the center where they serve the homeless.

It did not get as cold as predicted last night so I don't know what to expect today. The high was supposed to be 69 but it never got below 72 degrees last night and this morning.

Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.

Today felt like Fall of the year. It has been raining this evening and it is now 62 degrees. Just got back from walking Dixie and Suzie, time to sit back and relax.

Good morning everyone. Heard from Charles and Charlotte yesterday and they said they would not be able to come to Sevierville. So it looks as if our numbers will be down. but we will be strong in spirit.

Last night it was cool as was yesterday. No A/C running at all yesterday or last night. Today will much of the same. The 72 Lincoln placed in the car show yesterday and won a plaque. This is the first one in the five years I have had it.

This morning I am struggling to get moving. I want to go back to bed, but if I do I won't feel any better so I will just keep on pushing myself and try to enjoy the day.

I hope all is well with everyone and I wish you a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them. BTY Ga. won their game last night.

Pickles is still not doing good. She is very hesitant about doing her business all she does is just stand there and look at you. You can wait and wait and nothing. She is only urinating once or twice a day. She is not eating like she should and drinks very little water.
About an hour ago she looked like she was getting life in her and wanted to go out to take care of business. She started walking and had a pain and screamed and went and froze again.
I held off on given her pain medicine earlier today because she was sick last night.
But after that incident I ended up giving them to her.

We are scheduled to leave here Tuesday so depending on how things are will determine which way we go, continue south or head back north.

I hope Pickles gets better soon. I hate it when one of my dogs are in pain. You can't explain to them what is happening.

We took a short one day shake down trip in the motorhome yesterday. We spent last night at LazyDays resort in Tampa. I watched the Gator vs Auburn game outside as the weather was nice. We went to the Hard Rock casino and had a nice dinner. Donna had over $100 in comp dollars so we ate a the Rez which is a nice restaurant at the hotel. Donna wouldn't let me setup the Furbo camera when we left. She was afraid I would get stressed if I heard Murphy barking on the camera. We took the dogs on a long walk and fed them before we left the motorhome. When we got back, they were quiet and sleeping. Hopefully Murphy didn't bark when we were gone. I usually leave on the radio when we leave but I left the TV on this time.

I am saddened that the number of people is getting lower for the Sevierville trip. I have never been to one of these trips and I was really looking forward to meeting everyone. I hope that everyone else that had planned to go can still make the trip.

Burch
