Here is mine without the batteries. You can see the angle iron frame.![]() Here is why I don't need the slide out tray any longer. The two 6V batteries are much taller and don't fit in the tray made for two 12V. ![]()

Gene: As much as I admire the slider version, my own 213 has a battery hanger looking considerably like yours.

Here is the modification to the 2001 Trail-Lite B-Plus Brackets were used to mount 2 batteries. The weight is now distributed between the old tray and the new bracket arrangement. I had problems with the pictures, so here is the link... https://www.flickr.com/photos/23251540@N......../19512562155/in/album-72157655231579726/ So far, so good. I'll try to get some pictures of the wiring. A 2000 W sine wave inverter is now mounted inside the cab by the sofa front passenger side close to the batteries. Next project - solar! All for now. * This post was edited 07/07/15 10:16pm by mstanis * 2001 Trail-Lite B-Plus 211 w/ 5.7L Chevy

The battery mod I had done in early 2013 was similar, however the my service company took the old battery tray, extended it with a welded plate and put two additional angle supports to the top of the frame rail. I added two 5/8" threaded rods and a 1.5" x 1.5" x .125" angle to give additional support from the floor above at the far edge of the extended tray. I spread the support area out with large plate washers above and below the floor, all assembled with 5/8" nyloc nuts. I have 2 6v AGM batteries on the tray. Craigslist, or consignment at a good dealer. It's not the best time of year to sell in a northern zone.
Currently RV-less but not done yet. |

quietjake wrote: My circumstances have changed & am considering selling my 213 Trail Lite. Any one have any tips for posting? If you were in TN I would take a look at it! But since you are not.... advice from someone who has been looking at all kinds of ads: CLEAN the unit first. Pay special attention to the carpet and bathroom. No dishes in the sink, no jackets hanging on a hook. Walk all around the outside and make pictures that show the corners and middle area of front, back, and both sides. Do the same on the inside--start looking out the front and show the cab, then move around in a logical pattern and make sure you show all the areas of the inside. Add pics of the tire tread, and the underside of the chassis. Make pics of the roof, too. MAKE SURE your pics are well-lit and sharp! If you can't do it, recruit a friend with a good camera. Check the NADA pricing. Very few motorhomes are worth more than that, and no one will finance more than low retail. Be realistic. In the description--give detailed description of the engine, chassis, interior. Note any special features, like an upgraded battery or solar. Give the date code on the tires. List the type and size of the appliances. Give details of the electronics--batteries, inverter, whatever. Take some effort to write up a good description and post pics. My take is that if you are too low-tech or too lazy to do those things, you probably haven't done a very good job maintaining the RV. If you are not good at that sort of thing, get someone to help you. * This post was edited 07/15/15 07:38pm by coolmom42 * Single empty-nester in Middle TN, sometimes with a friend or grandchild on board |

thanks for the tips gentlemen! I have decent photography & keyboarding skills. Reluctant to deal with such as CL etc. This one is in decent shape, 35k miles, new tires, high end sound/flat screen. A few recent repairs such as rebuilt step-mechanism brain, new fuel pump, etc. I'll get some photos tomorrow & write up rough draft ad. |

What's going on, everyone out having a great time in their B+? Ours is in storage until next spring. We're back in Phaeton Place on the Space Coast of Florida, close to our son's family in Melbourne. Tomorrow we wander on toward Houston and a Doctor's appointment on the 1st of November. In two weeks we hope to be set up on our lot in Mission Texas.

Good luck on the Dr appt Terry. Will be heading out for a long weekend in another 1.5 weeks. Weather is getting nice here and the roads busier. Though Ft Myers has had a few mornings below 70 degrees, we're still waiting for our first sub 70 morning here. Lots more traffic at the marina. Have a safe trip.
