Hi Gang, sorry for taking so long, but here is a link to the pix that show all I did with my interior. Questions always welcome!

Cheeze, thanks for the pix. This is really what we want to achieve. However, my wife thinks I will go crazy (and bring her along) if I try something this ambitious. So, we may mod the dinette slightly, get new cushions for it, and replace the sofa with something longer, so we can sleep front to back. This will give us easier access to the bathroom at night. I think we are always going to use our self-inflating camping pads, as they are easier to store than a chunk of memory foam.

As an aside, went to a local dealer for some parts and checked out the new Winnebago Trend with the Ram chassis. Nice unit, but wife noted less storage and poor coach organization, not to mention narrower and more claustrophobic. After looking at the unit and the $80K price tag, we are more inclined to mod the 213 to our liking than trade it anytime soon.

Thanks Dennis, If you search the thread for 'U-shaped dinette" you may find another design idea. Tho' taking apart the jackknife sofa was not as bad as it seems, everyone has their own comfort level. Way back in the thread, after we took delivery of our 213, we had a water leak issue which existed when we got the RV.(brand new). I always had a 'bone to pick' with the dinette and original rug because of that problem. The dinette structure absorbed a lot of that water, and the panels had irreparable damage and had unsightly watermarks. Once we became seasoned rv'ers and valued bathroom access over sleeping acreage, I did lots of mental planning, using the Born Free "Built for Two" as inspiration. The eventual mod resolved some storage issues and comfort was enhanced tremendously. Whatever you do, if you need input, we are all here!! [emoticon]

OK, we're back to thinking about tearing it all out. So, a couple of questions...how hard was it to relocate the electricals? What size are the boxes? What do you use for a table?

I'll have more questions later but this is a start. Thanks so much!

Dennis I will write back in greater detail later if that is okay?
To begin there's no problem with electricals the box has two flanges that if you are careful you can remove through the present opening. You will not have to disconnect any of the wiring.
SAVE all of the paneling you can, it will be used later.

No worries...it will be several weeks before I can dive into this thing. I don' want to tear it out while we're still camping.

Great, I will put together another album on flickr with everything I have. I used Google Sketchup to plan it out, so there should be dimensions there. I reused a lot of what was already present. I believe I used 2 sheets of 3/4" plywood to build the boxes. It was the 'cabinet grade' multiply stuff from HD rather than regular construction or floor grade. It's outer layer was light luann rather than fir/pine.
To instill more confidence in you, I don't remember having to disconnect any of the fluid or electrical systems other than removing the heater ducts temporarily until I could hook them up to the new openings. I did improve some things, however. I made a much stronger/secure box for the the shore electrical cord, insulating it from being near any fluid conduit. You will see in the pix.

I really hate our sofa!! It is leather with one arm removed - the wrong one for watching television. [emoticon] But the back is so puffy and the removable cushion on the arm is overly puffy also that I cannot lean back and be comfortable! The back cushions are attached and I've thought about taking a pair of scissors and making "alterations" to it. Such as - stabbing the blinking thing and pulling out some of the fiber fill.

It has great storage underneath and I would hate to lose that but it does not make into a bed so if we ever bring a 3rd person - they sleep on the floor or we make up the dinette and hope the person is really short.

Suggestions for reupholstering and where to find a good replacement sofa. The ones I've seen online are as expensive as my new sofa at home.

Looking forward to new adventures and new friends.
