quietjake wrote: As to the quiet question, I spent about 100 miles in the back while my wife drove looking for any rattles, squeaks, or buzzing. Did not find very much, but did quiet the screen door, the leg under the dinette, the couch rollers, the stove, silverware drawer, and the microwave. Now, on smooth black top highways, it is spooky quiet.Appreciate the ideas of the prior 213 fans, and may well eventually go for that idea if all else fails. So far Old Blister--er My Sweet Bride--wants to keep the sofa and dinette as both are handy, they just don't make a bed she likes....Question on 'cabin noise' from the kitches-back area: We've managed to tune most of the clatter down several notches, yes still have a few annoyances, dependent on how rough the pavement is. Freeways is pretty quiet... We decided that we did not use the dinette very much, so we did a simple conversion to make a traditional single bed -

Speaking of "SPRINGERIZING" or de-winterizing.... Had the tech guy show me how to 'winterize' last fall....but forgot if he mentioned how to de-winterize. Can't be too complicated.....as far as I can tell....just get the pink stuff out of the P-traps, fill the water tank & hit the road. Or is there something else? |

If he "blew" out your water lines, that's about it. If he pumped in the "pink stuff" into your water system needs to be flushed and sanitized. Also you might need to connect the cables to the "house" battery. Check the tire pressure, coolant level, and change the oil if not done last fall, just before parking the RV. If the lines were not filled with pink stuff, you must run fresh thru the system. I used to run from the tank/pump and the fresh city inlet, then open the floor drains. I know it's supposed to be non toxic, but after seeing what happened to a neighbor's cat after drinking street gutter water where someone had drained antifreeze, I became ultra cautious. Hey Gene! We certainly used our RV less this winter than we anticipated - so much for the best laid plans, etc. First - the weather has been horrendous!!! So glad to see warmer temps and clear skies. I think I actually saw the sun this morning. Next work and outside activities kept getting in the way. Every time it looked like we would have 4 good days of weather one of us would have a meeting or appointment. Last big problems, one of our pups had to have back surgery and he is just getting to the point where he can move around. So, keep your fingers crossed we will be heading out very soon. Hoping to try out the new 21" television with DVD player we installed in the bedroom. It took us forever to get it mounted - now we need to make sure it stays in place.
Looking forward to new adventures and new friends. |

I guess our dealer sold our traded in 213 pretty quickly to someone out of state who saw it online. The buyer got a good unit IMO. Hope it does well for them.
Currently RV-less but not done yet. |

Need ideas for storing our New Bed!!! We got some special density 3" foam pads that run side to side & are as wide as the dinette....cut down the middle. They roll up into a rather large yet not heavy roll, or they lay flat. Thinking of installing overhead cabinet support points for carrying at roof level out of way & easily accessible. Or make your own suggestion if you don't mind. I've got a couple ideas that Old Blister.....er.....my Sweet Bride....doesn't like, so I'm considering alternatives for storage. She doesn't want them rolled up & stacked in the show stall for some reason, which made the most sense to me. |

So we found 3" foam that seems to be The Real Deal....haven't slept on it yet but it certainly is comfy laying on it. Also devised a way to store the new foam pads out of the way. Now for a small road test to prove the concept. I suspect additional tweaking with 'the execution' of the concept will be necessary. ****and where IS everybody????********* |
