We unscrewed the two visors, but as I see it, unless you take the grey plastic curved C trim off the back and just drop the headboard horizontally flat down, all sorts of crumpled cardboard all around the fancy contoured preimeter is gonna happen. So we put back.

Cannot even figure how to get at removing the clear face of the domelight if a bulb were needed. This might give access to slack wire.

For those of you with 21 foot Trail Lite's, what have you done when you have an extra person to sleep? We are planning a bicycle trip next year with a third person and would prefer not resorting to a tent.

I'm stumped.

2wheelluge - Not all the 21 foot Trail Lites have the same floorplan. Since ours has a slide behind the driver, our jack knife couch might be slightly different. My wife and I managed to sleep on the couch with my mother-in-law on the dinette. Would be a little cramped if done for several days, but one or two nights was do-able.

Fortunately, she was the shortest one. I don't fit on the dinette.

Bird chirping would be accurate. I used 3-4 drywall screws. That big tv came loose after a hard bump, which was the death knell of that POS.

While we've camped for nearly 4 decades, mostly without even shore power let alone radio, the presence of a nice modern flat screen tv seems alluring just to figure out how to make it work.

Given too much trouble, I can easily convert it to other uses.

Prior owner's college sun installed absolute primo sound system....not that we use it, but at least I can get the radio & CD figured out....

Daniel C can be proud. I want to hire these fulltimers

Somebody tell me how to remove decals, prep and paint RV siding (and wheelwell molding and trim), and bring back that new white finish.

I can only help with the decals. Use a heat gun or possibly a hair dryer. You don't have to melt them, just get them warmed up. Keep the heat moving ahead of your pulling off the decals. You'll get the technique after a while.

Now, if they are truly hardened into place, sometimes solvents become necessary. But if yours is anything like mine, they won't be that bad yet. I removed two of the logo decals which went bad. One over the cab, and one on the curb side.

Currently RV-less but not done yet.

My overcab one is bad, and a few are peeling at the corners. The heatgun is a helpful idea. After hearing some of the sanding, buffing, spraying details from John in the post I just linked to, I see an overall color change like he did on his Vanguard (it is not a TL, I now see), I would need experienced help.

Guess what this blind boy did yo his RV...

Read a post on Roadtreking.com about doing a lube job on the Chevy steering linkages. Here

I have never done one in my life, but his pics and description were so clear that I got under and felt (not looked) for 11 zerks and found them. I am guessing nobody has ever lubed them, so I went and bought my 1st grease gun (a large trigger type from WM) and tube of grease, figured out which end went where and put it together, and I did it. Feels good to finally complete a RV project w/ success.

Anybody else do this?

Are there any zerks on driveshaft U joints? Are those two U joints on the steering column above the steering arm (pitman arm, I think it is called also)? I sprayed 'em w/ silicone/

Burl, it must be very difficult doing any detail type work with your poor vision. Congrats on the job! I haven't looked at mine. I will, thanks for the heads up. My last oil change was done at a good full service shop which I trust and know to do very conscientious work. So I will be disappointed if they didn't do it.

As to the driveshaft u-joints, usually the OEM ones are sealed, but replacements have grease fittings.
