I recall Burl and Gene at one point were lamenting the lack of a wiring schematic. The one I posted in the linked thread is darn close to complete. At some point I will get it finalized. At least that's the plan! What I need to find out is how the connection is made for engine charging of the house battery. Currently RV-less but not done yet. |

When you figure out how the battery disconnect and emergency start solenoids are supposed to work as to when either or both batteries are supposed to charge w/ or w/o shore power, I want to talk. Nobody here ever answered this odd TL system. 2005 Trail Lite 213 B-Plus w/ 6.0 Chevy

I'd have to go find and reread my posts on a C forum thread on my solenoid replacement (which was not needed, as far as I can tell). I just remember that the chassis and coach batteries seem connected in parallel at times when they shouldn't be.

Here is the battery disconnect solenoid wiring diagram schematic for a 2005 R-Vision Trail Lite B+ 213. I do not know what the 5A fuse does. I pulled it and tried all the functions which connect from this junction box, and nothing was affected. If anyone has suggestions as to the fuse's function, please let me know. I also am unclear about the function of the small red wire coming off the house battery + side, going under the fuse and terminal block. It would be always hot. Possibly it feeds the mystery fuse. The wires going out to feed the Kwikee step and the EM start switch are not fused! The step is fused at the step itself however. URL to download full size image ![]() ![]()

Upon further review, it seems that the engine charging of the house battery should occur even if the house battery disconnect switch is in the Store position. I thought I tested and found it only occurs in the Use position. I will test again and report back.

House and Engine batteries connected full-time? Bad solenoid, or faulty wiring logic? Please, help! |

OK, this is the revised executive summary. ![]() When the engine is running, the batteries are connected. When you press and hold the EM Start switch, IF the house battery is online ("Use" mode), the batteries are connected. All other times the batteries are separated. If yours is not functioning that way then something is wrong or at least set up differently. I can offer suggestions to see if the engine isolator solenoid is working properly. |

What has spooked me more than once is when everything was off and I was not on shore power, while removing the coach batt to add water, I touched one of the cables (the ground, I think it was) to the chassis frame and got sparks. If memory serves right, it happened again even after I replaced the EM solenoid. I may be mis remembering some of this now - I kinda threw my hands up after a frustrating episode of vague assumptions all around. Something makes me think that elec step is wired wrong by TL, but it all seems to work generally right, and I am very careful with the coach batt cables nowadays. |
