Snowman9000 wrote: Most any hardware store or home improvement store will have regular steel wool in the paint department. I doubt that rusting will be much of a problem. What about the SOS pads?Interesting, thanks! Is there a retail store that sells stainless steel wool? I googled it and came up with online sources. We might be lucky so far, but the mice around here run around on the ground and the only way they can get up into the coach is to climb up one of the 4 tires. I have been feeding them "d-con" so they would not have to make that climb. Seems to work. 2002 Trail-Lite Model 211-S w/5.7 Chevy (click View Profile) Gene |

Teacher's Pet wrote: Re: The 213 we purchased a $22 air mattress & 12V pump on our trip to Vermont. We use the entire front sitting area as a king size bed. Looking to add more support to the jack-knife sofa, seat sets about 1" lower than the dinette. A few years back, I posted how to shore up the overhanging jacknife to make it solid and even with the dinette, It's in this thread somewhere probably in '05 or so. Simply cut two pieces of 2" dia PVC pipe to about 11" length, cut a 1/4" notch in the top so it can stand under and receive the 1/8" thick steel overhanging frame at each end of sofa. For better stability, shove a collar on the bottom of the PVC props to widen the base. Has worked for 7 years w/ no issues. Easiest when two people, one at each end, open the jacknife and install the props when making bed. 2005 Trail Lite 213 B-Plus w/ 6.0 Chevy

Thanks Burl. Will play around with that info..thought I saw remedy for the problem reading the thread, but couldn't locate it again. BTW we usually pass through Baton Rouge each fall on our way to S Texas after visiting our son in FL. We stop and see my cousin in Zachary, he does fishing charters out of Leeville after retiring from GP up at Port Hudson. Always know when a strong Northern has pushed thru from the distinctive smell that wafts in from the paper plant of our northern neighbors in Port Hudson!

ClassBGirl - Sure like the looks of your Triple E. They have a good build quality. The Murphy bed makes a lot of sense. That is one thing that we wish we could fix on our unit. We started out returning the couch and dinette back to normal from the sleeping configuration every morning. That got old after a couple years. We now merely convert the couch back to seating and leave the dinette set up as a bed. We soon discovered we did not spend much time eating inside, so why bother. Lap trays while seated on the couch work just fine in inclement weather. Our footprint -

I wonder if Cheeze1 still follows this thread? I'd like to know what they do for eating trays. He was going to look into some sort of foldaway tray IIRC.
Currently RV-less but not done yet. |

If I were to make the switch to 2 twin beds like he did, I might consider cutting the dinette table in half and move a single post to the center of the aisle. I liked his conversion a lot and wish I had the carpentry talent to do the same. |
