For those of you who are thinking about bluetooth, be careful, my bluetooth connected to t-mobile worked fine and then it quit. Tryed another bluetooth donagle usb and then it didn't work. So I changed to a tethered laptop and now it works great with less hassles hooking up.

hey there, we used the connectivy kit with alltel and it worked great for rhe last two years, when we bought this new computer we went with bluetooth and altel sells a 80211g that sends and receives at around200-500kbps.if you are in a anilog area and /or the broodband won't work in a bad signal area there is a standard dial-up 14.4kbps that helps cover the dead zones. don't know if you have seen this or noy we have had this and so far its great. we have unlimited service,nationwide service,no roming and no long distance for $70. a month and no minites. 24/7. great when im using gps in the streets and trips!

I will be full time on the road in March 2006!! Yeh! BUT, I am at a loss for what I need concerning phone/internet hookups. While reading all these posts, I am even more confused. I am computer literate, still working as ex.sec., but what is WiFy? What is "tethered" laptop? I will be looking into purchasing a laptop soon. Also want national service,no roaming cell phone. I will be using internet mostly for e-mail. I don't think I need unlimited hours as I do now with my DSL. Can someone make this a bit easier for me? Thanks in advance!!! [emoticon]

The Verizon Wireless SMTP server is smtp.vzwmail.net, but you need to set up your account to access it. Go to www.vtext.com and click the "Join Up" button.

GOT MINE FROM COMP USA FOR $50.00. INCLUDES THE SOFTWARE AND THE CABLE REQUIRED. THE SOFTWARE WILL WORK WITH A LARGE NUMBER OF PHONES. JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE KIT WITH THE CORRECT CABLE. WORKS GREAT AFTER AN EASY SET UP. JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU ENABLE THE COMMUNICATIONS FUNCTION ON THE PHONE PRIOR TO LOGGING ON TO THE NET.

I have sprint and have been using it with my laptop for a long time, well not lately, but I was wondering what can be done if you are in an area that loses a connection like in hills or trees? I'm new with the rv stuff so excuse me if this has been mentioned.

I think cellphone wattage is about 1/6 of that amount, around 500 milliwatts ( not positive on that number )

lots of truckers have them .. and RVer's are getting them too

My wife and I are planning on traveling for the entire summer. I am trying to figure out how I can use my cell phone and laptop to connect to the Internet. I have read a lot of information regarding this possibilities, the more I read the more confused I get with conflicting information I have read, so let me see if I can simplify it for myself being on the simple side.

1. is my Samsung PM – A840 cell-phone compatible
2. do I need to add to my Sprint Fair & Flexible plan
3. do I need an internet provider
4. I am having a problem finding a USB Data cable that states I can connect to the Internet I only found one and it only talks about picture and data.

I would love to get hooked up and avoid any high costs seeing we will not be needing the service 100 % of the time, also do not really need a high speed connection. Any specific help would be very much appreciated.
