Well eyeteeth my process was one panel at a time sanding priming then sanding some more filling imperfections with glazing putty until each panel looked good enough for paint which took 11 rattlecans followed up with a good rub of 2000 grit sandpaper and rubbing polish just to even it all out and shading out some of the gloss nice and even.
There was no rust holes to repair nor dents, just faded old paint.

Not a fan of the paint color choice so ended up two toning the whole works. Looking forward to when it gets dirty, just an old Dodge.
Thanks
Remember...while spraying with rattle cans at any moment one can may chit out a wad of goo all over yer finish.

Remarkable work, especially considering you used rattle cans.

You've demonstrated that prep work is vital to a professional looking job.

I like the (subtle) two-tone scheme. I think it really works nicely.

Thanks Griff and Leeann.

It really is the prep work that makes the difference.
I'm no auto body guy believe me but I do have time on my side, I even whittled several layers of paint off all wheel and axle cap bolts.
Its called MH OCD.

Wait a minute my440 you did this with spray cans? That's a great job ??I was thinking of painting my cruisemaster but I have little experience with a spraygun, but I'm great with a spray can,I was thinking of wrapping my rv with that car/truck vinyl wrap, I wrapped my new Dodge Charger with it and it looks great. So how many cans did it take to do the whole thing I'm rethinking on the paint now lol

I have an electrolytic rust removal tank that also removes most types of paint. The tank I have right now uses a 5-gallon bucket but I'm working on one using a 55-gallon drum.

The thing I like best is it's nontoxic and environmentally safe. Second best is far less effort to have an item primer-ready.

Latest problem... The old girl has gotten rather difficult to start. Runs fine... just doesn't like starting up.

A depression of the gas pedal puts a squirt into the carb. A second depression gives a second squirt. However, the bowl itself seems to go dry. and... over the course of several hours maybe? Cranks and cranks until it gets fuel back up to the carb. A little shot of starter fluid Saturday, and she fired right up. The carb looks like it might be 'weeping' fuel through the gaskets a little. Thought I would check for the expert opinions here. I am ordering a rebuild kit for the carb. I have read many feel the problem is Ethanol in the fuel... others feel that's ridiculous... Saw mention of a small leak in the fuel line... but I don't see how that would cause the bowl to go dry... Still has the 9211 TQ Carb on it. Next opportunity we'll rebuild the carb, and test the fuel pump output. But other ideas are appreciated.
