Mine looks much more like your's Old Trucker. I got it cleaned out and happy yesterday. It was more of a chore than I had hoped though. The good news... the burner pulled right out the front. The bad news... the flame proof seal crumbled in my hands. A little hacksaw worked perfect for cleaning out the grooves. HOLY COW you should have seen the rust that came out of the burner WOW! Getting the burner lined back up to get it back in place was a challenge as well. Finally got it all together, and it would even light. Had to do it all again... but she's working now. Good heat, nice and smooth, ready for fall.

Those are the burner channels. The gas runs in the channels (heavier than air). When you light it and look in the sight glass, you can see the flames running along those grooves.

Really? They let the gas out to burn. Hence 'burner'. The burner is located inside the structure from your picture. Which is the burn chamber. Both are located inside your furnace. The burner heats up the burn chamber... the intake and exhaust for the burn chamber are to the outside of the RV. The furnace blower blows air over the heated burn chamber, and through any ducting in your RV to distribute heat. Any help? Clear as mud? |
