Trish, I ALWAYS make her some tea, whether she's ailing or not!

Yes, but now every time you make her tea, you can be grateful that you "must."
We (Leeann & I) will remind of this from time to time.

I'm very happy and relieved t hear Kimberley will be well.
Not early as much as she is, though.....

well I have spark but not that blue, yellow, I think it is not stong and the coil is weak too, so must be the blaster somthing, like someone said, I going to get a new one hope they are cheap but not that cheap

The ballast resistor tends to be an "all or nothing" thing ... usually, it either works or doesn't.

My guess is it's either the coil or ground connection.

(1) Someone reversed connections on the coil. (This won't cause noticeably significant problems until the sparkplugs get older and their gap increases.) There's usually a plus (+) and minus (-) marked on the coil. If the connections are reversed, you'll lose about 50% of your spark juice. If the gap on the spark plugs is oversize (from wear), there won't be enough juice to jump the gap reliably.

(2) The coil is wearing out and/or has an internal short.

(3) The ground connection between the engine block and frame/chassis/battery is missing, loose, or corroded.

Go ahead and get a new ballast resistor ... they're inexpensive and it doesn't hurt to have a spare.

Check the coil connctions. (I need to do more research before telling you how to do that ... I know how to troubleshoot the old breaker-type ignition systems but the newer electronic ignition systems are trickier.)

Check the block ground. Quickest way is to connect a jumper cable from the battery's negative (-) terminal to a clean (non-greasy) bolt on the engine block.)

Replace the coil (and make sure you get the connections right). This is a bit more expensive. Even if the current coil is not bad -- just old and weak -- replacing the coil will improve your engine's performance. (Cylinders need a good, hot spark to burn the fuel charge effectively.)

BTW - for everyone else - reversed coil connections will hurt your gas mileage ... you might want to check to make sure yours are correct. (Or, just trust a PO didn't do something stupid.)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We both really appreciate all of the support! She was even crying last night because of all the people (who she either just met or never met) caring so much for her! She claims to have never experienced that before, and I'd believe her based on her reactions! Heck, even Moparts sent her a dozen roses! [emoticon]

Weird to me, since I'm a WI boy, and we always look out for each other, even if you don't particularly like the person, they are still people in need of help, and we help!

You all are great friends to have, and I sincerely hope we meet on a happy note out on the road! Or here! It's all good!!! [emoticon]

If you see the pathetic apple green and red-wheeled junker running (or stalled on the side) the road, stop in for a chat and a beer! It's te least I can do!

Eric

She ain't purdy, but at least she's slow!

I hope we all can meet somewhere together one day, or just run across
folks along the way. If we do, post it here, along with the pictorial
evidence!!

I'll be watching- hopefully you won't be stalled, but if you are, guess who'll be happy to help?

Eric

Get your strength up Kimberley, and Eric, watch over her and take good care of her- we'll see y'all out there somewhere!!!
