Squabble, squabble. I feel right at home already. Just dropping a note to announce my august presence in the forum... I just bought a 1980 Fleetwing 23 footer on a 79 Dodge MB400 chassis last Wednesday, for a staggering $500, and my researches led me here. I'm no stranger to RVing, and though it has been a number of years since my last coach, (a big ol' 1980 Harvest Palace II Class A) I'm looking forward to getting back on the road for a while... I haven't even had a chance to look over the Fleetwing all that well...it has been in storage for a couple years, has a nice patina of Florida moss on it, one flat tire, and some water damage issues, but I'm going to put it back on the road if it takes every penny of my kid's inheritance..... I'll be spending most of the day today over in the storage lot, poking and prodding at the old hulk to discover how far in debt I'm about to go. I'll know more this evening..... So far, I've removed the batteries and put them on the charger for the last 3 days. The chassis battery is OK, the cabin battery is shot. I guess its time to load up the van and go do a little triage. I'll post a bit more when I know a bit more.... Oh, and kudos to whiteknight for starting this thread, inadvertent as it may have been. I can see that I'll spend a lot less time floundering about in futile searches for parts with the aid and assistance of you wonderful lot... |

That parts catlog is kind of useLESS - none of the #'s are any good anymore. I have TWO of these BTW. Don't really need either of them. WELCOME Bh. |

Don't worry, you'll get enough "squabbling" from all of us to last 'til at least quiet time. Part of the fun of this thread is following the disconnected posts on a subject and staying with 4 or 5 at a time. Pictures? What motor are we talking in it? 1978 21ft Tioga Dodge 440 Motor, 4.5kw Generac and 80 watts Solar 1984 Goldwing Interstate (Daily driver) Misc Things I've done to my RV pictures USAF Retired To Err is human... To Forgive is not SAC Policy. ![]() |
