From what I have heard ... this is actually DONE on a weighed vehicle -- NOT done by simply measuring circumference.

Besides Leeann and Griff (I will be picking their brains in a moment), who has swapped out to LED lights? And where did you find ones that fit the existing holes? |

From what I've found in the past, revolutions per mile is found by using the radius of the tire from the center the axle to the contact point on the ground. Even a difference of air pressure can change this...Jerry

Well I still not got my answer, surly some one has upgraded there 16.5 rims/tires to the taller 16 rim/tires, did your RPM's drop, or just very little change and no notice, just was wondering before I change my gear ratio and then replace with 16 in tires and my RPM's my drop to much..

Okay... Answer If the new tire has a larger diameter than the old 16.5 rimmed tire the RPM will be lower. Unless you can give us the old AND new tire diameter there is no way to calculate how much the RPMs will increase OR drop. The only valid answer "I" can give is that: If the new tires are the same diameter as the old tires (no matter what rim size) then the will be no change in RPM. 1978 21ft Tioga Dodge 440 Motor, 4.5kw Generac and 80 watts Solar 1984 Goldwing Interstate (Daily driver) Misc Things I've done to my RV pictures USAF Retired To Err is human... If you look back about 100 pages or so, I'm doing the same thing. I have brandy-new 16" wheels to replace the old 16.5's. My tire spec on the rig is 7.00x16.5, which is about a 215-70R-16 new tire. I'm going to over-size my rears to 235-75R-16 and keep the fronts small, since there isn't ANY room to fit a taller or wider tire in the front fenders. I'm going with Kuohmo (sp?) tires since they have great reviews and are affordable. I just need to find the scratch to actually PAY for 7 new tires! ![]() Eric PS- Trish and Leeann, Kimberley has decided that the red wheels are cool, but not the apple green. I just may need to veto her! ![]() She ain't purdy, but at least she's slow! ![]() |

Eric,, Its christmas time, you need to put both the red and green on at the same time. I don't think anyones dying statement ever contained the words "I wish I had spent more time in the office", so lets go somewhere! |
