Our CG has Tengo wi-fi. To use it for free, on the laptop we needed to enter a coupon code on a Tengo host screen. DW wants to connect the Nook but can't get anywere, presumably because the Nook can't talk to the Tengo verification stuff.

Is there a way to do it without a router in our trailer?

The Nook should connect, but you'll have to do it as though you had a separate computer. You should set up a new Tengo account. When you try to access the internet with the Nook, you should have the option of selecting Tengo from the list of wireless access points that show up on the Nook. Once you select Tengo and try to access any website, you'll get the Tengo sign on/register page. I just handled the same thing today, but with a Kindle and Tengo. I doubt if the Nook is much different.

And apparantely working with his laptop
He just needs to hook up his Nook reader

Opinions about value of Tengo service are off topic and have been covered in other threads

Do you have a Nook, or a NookColor?

If it's a NookColor, you open a browser window, go to the correct URL and put in the needed info. If it's just a Nook, you may be SOL.

I have Tengo where I am wintering my trailer. Tengo only allows one connection at a time so maybe that is your problem. I solved my problem with a program on my laptop called "Connectify". The laptop connects to Tengo and my phone connects through the laptop. Tengo requires a login through a webpage while Connectify lets you logon through a WiFi hotspot.

It's a plain first generation Nook.
