Closest is easy, decent is a little harder. The closest spots are Cape Ann Campsite http://capeanncampsite.net/ and Little River. http://home.comcast.net/~littlerivercampground/site/
We have been to Cape Ann which is in a beautiful area, but is kind of limited as far as sites are concerned - it really makes a difference as to what you are looking for. Never been to Little River.
If you are willing to drive a bit, Beach Rose in Salisbury, Mahttp://beachroservpark.com/ This park has good sites, full hookups and a pool.
Probably the greatest place is Salisbury State Reservationhttp://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/northeast/salb.htm. State run park with W/E and dumping station. Tough to get reservations, but you can easily walk to the ocean.
Probably more than you want to know. Have a great trip - this is a nice area of MA.

Thank you demoon for the great info. I did check RVParkreviews, but I prefer word of mouth best. Salisbury State sounds nice.

If you want something REALLY different, try winter island in Salem MA. I would only take one of the waterfront sites...anythng else is not worth it. But the waterfront sites are right on the harbor. Kind of a parking lot thing, but on the water right in the heart of everything at the boat launch. A funky spot...don't do it if you don't like funky!

I also have been to Cape Ann Campsites, had a nice site just off the road with a great view of the bay. It was Water & electric and right under the WiFi antenna. I was only there for 3 nights so not having a sewer hook-up wasn't a problem.

Little River is 5 sites in someones back yard, avoid it. Winter Island is a paved parking lot, old coast guard location next to the sewer plant and a electric generation station, I would avoid that. Salisbury State Park is nice and on the water, Harold Parker State Park is OK in North Andover. Never been to Cape Ann Campsites. Been to Rusnik in Salisbury which was nice. The Pines and Black Bear in Salisbury, not so nice. Beach Rose is newer and looks good from the street, it is small and the RV's are kind of lined up.
Salisbury is just a few miles up route 1 from Ipswich.
Good luck

Electric issue is correct if you need 50amp. There are 20 & 30 amp sites so you need to watch that when reserving. I think the W/E is actually shared by two sites - but they are quite a ways back from the pads. I reached water with one hose, but had to back beyond the pad to reach electric without an extension. But then, my C had the electric over the wheel well with a long rear overhang.
Still a beautiful place - but if newer/50 amp is important I would go for Beach Rose. Not real pretty, but sites are OK.
