I'm trying to find a way to mount a fairly large flatscreen TV in the living area instead of over the windshield. In another thread, barlow46 provided a complete brochure on the coach. I see that there are two couches facing each other. I wonder if I could replace one of the couches with two recliner/rockers and pull the other couch out a few inches to install a flatscreen mount that would move up and down so it would be hidden behind the couch when not in use. Have any of you ever done this, and if so, where would I find the retractable mount? Your suggestions would be appreciated!

Some of the newer 40 inch TV's weigh in at only 25 pounds or less. So you can lay one on the bed when you travel, if 40 inch is large enough and you decide not to go forward with this project.
Our trailer came with a retractable 26 inch TV. Even for such a small TV, the mechanism was really heavy duty. I think you would have to pull that one couch at least 6 inches away from the wall to make room for such a framework.

Before I'd spend $700 on a lift, I'd rig something using cables from the cabnets above to raise it up. I recently replaced my front TV with a 40" LED that was only 1 1/2" thick and less than 25lbs. You would only have to move the sofa out 2". You could mount a pair of lined U channels behind the sofa to hold the TV while traveling. By mounting a small 12V winch made by adding a drum to something like this you could slide it up in the U channel to watch. Here is a link to the post about this TV.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

I'm certainly gonna give the winch idea some thought. That would save me a lot of money if I can figure out how to make it work with a 42 or 46 inch flatscreen. I pretty good on electrical things but not so good on mechanical. We'll see.... Thanks very much!

Dont knock it till you have tried it. I can have Full HD video coming from my pc onto my tv and read it easily. 1920x1080P is tough to read on little screens.
