Hey there, we will be in the lake Mead area tomarrow and I am having trouble finding a good campground on the lake. I can't boondock for a couple reasons and have three dogs wich lets out lake Mead RV villiage. Can anyone give me any pointers? Any help would be greatly apreciated. Close proximity to the Dam and shopping would be nice but not essential. Thanks in advance!

Lake Mead

They have "waterfront" sites... unfortunately, the water was way low in the reservoir take the shore line with it. It was pretty nice place and the RV sites were fairly new in 08.

We've stayed several times at Echo Bay, and the FHU RV spaces are nice, but nowhere near the water. We go there for the boating, so the campground was less important to us.

With that in mind, Lake Mead is currently 85' below full-pool, so you're not going to find any beach-front RV spots with full hookups that are actually close to the water.

Thanks for the input folks. I'll give willow a shout right now and see if I get lucky... And yea, I realize how low the lake is. Sad....
Thanks again! I'll post back if anything newsworthy comes up.

if you come in by lake las vegas entrance and turn right. then not to far up the road there is a left hand turn to the OLD las vegas bay marina (now moved to hemenway wall, address horse power cove) there is a park operated camping area. it has water and black water dump but i don't think power. here is a photo
