Scared the******out of me and then all the sudden a B-52 appeared in my front windshield flying directly over me at probably less than 300 feet. I watched as he flew off across the desert at that altitude and eventually out of site.
We had them up here for years. They used to low altitude around the Ute Mountain and then take off to the south with a big black exhaust cloud.

Low altitude in a big plane was an interesting experience. I used to be a loadmaster on the C-141 in the Air Force. We did a couple of low level training missions. Very fun flying so low in such a big plane, but real bumpy too, especially on a hot day.

When I was working for Contel in Boron, I stayed in my 5th wheel in Adelanto just off the runway of George AFB. The B-2 flew over the trailer and the noise was unbelievable. When I worked at the telco office in Boron, it flew right over the telco office trailing the heavy wire so it was seen on radar. That telco office now closed used to see many aircraft being tested at EAFB due to the proximity of the runway to the telco office.

You can't take a pic of that. Expect a visit from some men in a black Suburban soon.

For sure a B-2, unless the wings were flapping. Then it was a GIANT bat.
Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.

LOL!
Northrop, the builder of the B2, is a client of mine. I have been in areas of the plant that not many get to ever see. I saw a drone being built before the info was released to the general public.
Also stood right next to the B2 and an Sr71.
Very cool place to visit.

You have never seen or felt anything until a B-36 flies low over your motel during take-off. That happened near Spokane, WA many years ago. 6 pusher props and 4 jet engines creating noise and vibration.

Heard some different yet recognizable sounds yesterday while working in FIL's carport. Many planes fly overhead but these were some special sounds.
Walked out into the yard and my memories were correct.....
No mistaking these wonders.
