What are the pros or cons about putting nitrogen is tired instead of air?

Air is 78% nitrogen, so why do you think that you should pay to exchange that other 22%? Really, for the "average" RV person, there is absolutley NO benefit to using 100% nitrogen.

Very slight advantages over DRY air.
Both of which have big advantages over the regular WET air found in those coin op air compressors without air dryers.

from what I've read on this forum, it is an advantage. but I am wondering about the availability of nitrogen out on the road if you need to add air to one or more tires to get the tire up to operating pressure.

I have heard from different sources that there really is no advantage to using Nitrogen in tires.
Others say they do not expand and contract like they do with air.
Is it worth the extra cost or do we check our tires?

Most tires are mounted using some type of wet lubricant, which pretty much cancels out any dry air/nitrogen advantage. Save your money and use air.

Let's keep the FACTS straight. Advertising hype will not overcome Boyle's Law. Nitrogen and dry air both change PSI with temperature change the same-- basically both acting as "ideal gases".
Wet air is clearly different.

Unless your flying an aircraft or racing cars, pure nitrogen in tires has NO benefit but to make your wallet lighter.

The advantage in using N2 is to the $eller, not the buyer.

When I was shopping for tires for my truck the one of the tire shops had a really good deal on 4 tires and they included free nitrogen....Problem I had was it was an hour drive to the shop and the closest place to where I live was a 20 mile drive. It got me thinking in my travels I seldom have seen anyone have nitrogen available but I could find free air eveywhere. So although it was a good deal I passed. Just something to think about.
