We are in a 36ft Class A Fleetwood Fiesta with 3 slide outs travelling up from Tucson to Sedona on 10/17 looking for a place to spend the week-end. Looks like there are a million RV parks in the area...Phoenix-Tempe-Mesa. We welcome your recommendations, don't want to get too far off 17 because it is just for the weekend.

when we head to sedona we stay at Distant Drums RV Park in Verde Valley, AZ. right of I-17 but you don't hear any road noise. pool, wifi that works, cable...very nice park.
for mesa and enviorns we stay at the Mesa Spirt RV Park. when down Tucson way we stay at the I-10 RV Park in Benson. Mesa Spirit is more of a snowbird park but we're there for a month in March/April. The I-10 park in Benson is not much more than a gravel park with cable and wifi that works. it's also very inexpensive.

The trouble with being punctual is that nobody’s there to appreciate it.

We are currently here.
Desert Sands RV Park.
The park is nothing fancy. We chose it because it is very close to where my brother is renting a vacation home for a week. It has all the basics including good free wifi. Unheated but clean pool. Quiet tennants half mixed between long term permanents and short term guests. We took a shot and just showed up and they had a site but i would call as they are kinda full. Its not pricey and is not in a fancy neighbourhood but is close to every kind of shopping you can think of. Every site has grass and most have a tree. Ours has an orange tree with oranges ready for the pickin. Restrooms and showers are being renovated so plan on being self contained. We are 40 feet long and still had room for our car in front. There is a concrete patio for each site. Not sure what the daily rate is but the week was 195 all taxes and everything else in. It is NOT a RESORT. We would stay here again if we need to come back to this area.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that suggestion about Desert Sands. When we have dates, I'll call ahead and hope they have room for us for a few days. Also thanks for the other suggestions. We plan to visit friends and relatives in the area. Do you know when the restrooms will be ready to use?

We are running into the "no dog over 20 lbs" issue in many of these 55+ RV camps in the Phoenix area, is this one of them?? Any they all seem booked full this time of year.Anyone know anything about Apachce Palms, Tempe; Mesa Regal, Mesa; Oak Creek, Sedona?

DW called the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale and told them we wanted to spend a night or two in the bus (made us sound a little more rockstar) and check out the resort for a future conference (absolutely false, but you never know??).
Security said we could park in the old employees parking lot. They even sent a golf cart to pick us up and bring us to dinner!
Just a thought. We always love the challenge of trying to get away with parking in the most outrageous place as possible. Spent the night in a vineyard in St. Helena in Napa Valley that may or may not been owned by a former speaker of the house from the bay area. Never been run out of any place yet. Maybe we should try harder.
Caveat...We always try to spend some money where we are staying in appreciation.

This might be the best plan EVER!! It's like wedding crashers in an RV. Yeah, you just gave our RV a whole new agenda.
