There are a number of Monaco/Holiday Rambler models with front kitchens that all have a large TV mid-coach. The HR models like the Ambassador and Endeavor all have models like that since the 2005/6 time frame.

MSHappyCampers wrote: We are thinking of buying a used MH but there's one huge problem. In our 5er the TV cabinet is angled for a perfect view from the two recliners in the rear in front of the rear windows. All of the used MH's we have looked at have the TV over the windshield so we would have to sit on the couch and turn sideways to view it. Totally unacceptable! Can anyone suggest a MH with the TV back in the LR?
We are thinking about a diesel pusher, maybe between 2000 and 2005. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Unfortunately, compared to the 5W, IMO, the floorplans on pretty much all class As is not that good. There are a few floorplans (like the 39F) mentioned above that have the TV in the middle (at the sacrifice of one seating position) and recently most have TVs in the middle on the wall next to the slide (although I'm not convinced that's really any better as it still doesn't face the couches).
If you want something that's most similar to 5W, Newmar AllStar had 'reverse floorplans' with mid-engine diesels for a few years. Like a 5W, the kitchen / family room was at the back.

With today's flat-screen TVs, you can put one pretty much wherever you want it. On our coach, we have two slides in the living area, a queen bed and a jack-knife couch/bed. I took the jack-knife out, built an entertainment center in that space, and installed a 47" flat screen TV. Almost all the wires are hidden, although I could have concealed all of them with a little more effort. This totally eliminates the crick in the neck from watching a front-mounted TV.
I've replaced all three old-style TVs (living area, bedroom, basement storage entertainment center) with flat-screens.

Hi All.
We also have a Rexhall Motorhome, but its a Gasser. And of coarse it has the front TV in the over-head cabinets. We did an "Inside-Make-Over". We got rid of the matching "Love Seats" that make into a samll bed. One of the wrost things we have ever sat on, we can't even think what it would be like to sleep on. We Dumped them. Anyway, what we did, was to install two Larger, Brand New TV's while we were at it. Yes the front TV is still in the over-head Cabinets. But when we did oue "Inside-Make-Over, we replaced the old OEM matching Love Seats, with a Beautiful pair of Over-Stuffed Swivel Backed Rocking Chairs. Now we can swing the Rocking Chairs to any angle we want them to be in. Its no longer an issue to watch TV from the Rocking Chairs or while eatiing at the Dinning Table and Chairs we now have. The Rocking Chairs lean back far enought, so you don't get a kinked neck trying to watch TV now. You could do the same thing or with a pair of Recliners also. You could also just make a Cabinet Door for where the over-head TV is, and turn it into more over-head storage. And then put your TV in a different location. This way your not so limited as to the Motorhome that you do get. Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill

We typically only watch tv at night. So, having it in front of the windshield allows me to lay down on the couch to watch tv and be much more comfortable than setting up. Of course, we don't have a recliner(s), only the two couches. We have been thinking of replacing the jackknife with a recliner, but don't want to reduce our seating capacity.

Our 2008 Itasca 40FD has an angled tv and fireplace so that you don't have to turn sideways to watch TV, that's one of the reasons we bought it.
Good Luck!
