We would like to find this fiver:
30-32 feet actual length
Lower than 12' high
NO bed slide (this is non-negotiable because we will convert it to twin beds or get the mfr to do so if possible)
Rear kitchen (negotiable)
Large fresh and waste water capacities
Quality build, meaning not bottom end cheapest entry line
Non-Lippert frame preferred but that really limits things.
Polar package
If we omit the height restriction, there are a lot of them, I know. It seemed like Arctic Fox would have fit the bill in the past, but now they are taller. Maybe this happened in 2012 and there are 2011's out there which are lower, I dunno.

Northwood, maker of Arctic Fox, also makes the Fox Mountain line of fifth wheels that are the size you are discussing. They are among the most likely to put in twins for you at the factory. You would be limited to a 74" length for the twins because of the sink location on the units. These are lower profile. There would be a step to get into bed from the bath area. 4 season, Northwood makes their own chassis, and good quality construction in a lighter unit. By doing the twins versus a bed slide, your closet space is more limited.

My Coachman fits that catogory but some consider them a "cheaper" line. I looked at them all before we bought and ended up in the Coachman and Cougar was a close second but build features put me in the Coachman. Some say "cheap" and I say "affordable" and we love it!

Sounds like my old 1981 Komfort, except it had a rear living area. There are a number of models that fit your bill that have been around through the years. I guess it depends on how interested you are in maintenance and retrofit of an old unit.

We just bought a Jayco Eagle SuperLite 26.5RLS that has a wardrobe slide in the bedroom but might fit your needs. Jayco also sells a 26.5BKS, I think that's the designation that has a rear kitchen with the wardrobe slide and a large slide in the living area for dinette and couch. You might take a look.

Yeah, I think all the Jaycos are 12' 7" tall. If we have to exceed 12', we will. But under 12' we can get into a building we own.

Are you interested in another Crossroads? The base Cruiser has a rear-kitchen, non bed slide model that is new for 2012:
2012 Crossroads Cruier CF27RKX
The unit is less than 12' high, has 80 gallons of grey water, 58 gallons of fresh water, a polar package, tinted fiberglass front cap, extra long comfort couch, and features a 2+5 year warranty.
The only issue is a Lippert frame. Crossroads seems to have better luck with Lippert than most.

We have a 30RSO Excel made Peterson Ind. Ours measures 11'6" but does have Lippert frame. I have been reading Excel forum for 3 years and do not recall any frame issues. These are 4 season campers and thus weight is about 12,500+.

I took a look at the HT series and the RLS is 12'3" and the RKS is 12'1". I wasn't looking at height when I purchased since I will store it outside. Sorry about that.

It's funny, I didn't give Crossroads a thought. We've had some pains with this one but I think they are worth another look. Thanks!
Because of this thread, this afternoon we went over to a dealer here near Mesa and looked at Arctic Foxes and Fox Mountains. They are over 12' too. There is a new AF with a king bed, which would be fine for us, but they didn't have one there for us to look at.
