Not sure if this is covered somewhere else on here but thought I'd share some info.
I added a hitch to the back of my fiver and have pulled small trailers all over the midwest states. Not really an issue just some stares from public and law enforcement.
That was until I went to Florida, towed in with no problem. Was there a couple of weeks and seen many others doing the same. Nobody give me a second look, including many law enforcement officers.
On the way home just before the state line a state patrol took time out of his busy day to explain the towing laws in FL.
No double trailers allowed, Period
He explained, first you get a fine for two trailers, then another fine for every foot over length you might be. I had to jetski's behind my fiver. The truck and RV is 52 feet and the ski's and trailer is another 17 maybe 18 so you can do the math.
For my rig the fine would be about 700-800 dollars. And they make you drop the trailer right there on the side of the road.
Since I was only a couple of miles from AL, and I'd not been warned before you I got off with a warning. He also jotted down all the plate numbers and my license number, saying they keep track and next time I'll get the fine and parked trailer.
So just an FYI, most of the time you can get by with it but not every time. I also have CDL license with the double and triple trailer endorsement, he was unimpressed.
The towing with a rig that long is misery, atlanta was a nightmare. It was last summer, I can just now talk about it.

The fact you like me have a CDL means nothing when you are driving a non-commercial vehicle. CDL stands for Commercial Drivers License and only applies if you are driving a commercial vehicle for pay. If you are working for a RV company moving RV's from one location to another you then need a CDL. Also a CDL is invalid unless you have on your person a current DOT physical card.
BTW no double towing in Washington or Oregon.

Pivot wheel trailer
Is it legal to tow a pivot wheel trailer in B.C., Washington, Oregon or is it considered double towing?
Also has anyone had experience with these types of trailers?
I am concerned with size of the wheels and tires.

Another reason why I love the West. All the states around me allow double towing.

So you were 69 to 70 feet. Not sure but I think the max is 53 feet. I see many pulling boats or jet ski's behind their units. I recall seeing on a forum where they posted for each state. If I can find it, I'll post it here.

Please provide a reference that shows Fl allows double towing.
The last reference I saw posted by someone claiming Fl allows it, didn't show Fl allows it.

I saw a DP pulling a full sized pickup pulling a boat on I-95 in Virginia so using some folks here logic, it must be legal in VA.
