We are new to camping and are looking to buy a TT (well we just did buy one, but are selling it for a better one) anyway... what im wondering is if anyone can help out with good sites that are good to search for campgrounds, pics of sites (other than here of course) and anything else that is helpful to us newbies..
Also, what is this good sams club and how do you sign up..
Where do you all shop for camping stuff
Basically anything that is good advice.. spill it please!
Welcome to the forum! There are many good sites to find information about camping, campgrounds, etc. This happens to be one of them. You can also Google whatever it is you want to find, and you will find it. Also, many of the member blogs will provide tons of what you seek. You can often find links to the various user blogs in their signatures (make sure you have that option turned on in your profile settings).
Good Sam Club is a 10% camping discount club as well as many other great features. It also allows for discounts at Camping World. It is worthwhile to some, not so much to others. Only can decide if it is right for you. Visit GoodSamClub.com to find out more.
There are many places to shop for camping gear... Amazon, Camping World, Tweety's, PPL Motorhomes, RV Parts Country, etc.
Hope this gets you started...

Try all kinds of parks, commercial and government, to determine your style of camping. Use RV Park Reviews to gain a perspective on many parks. US Campgrounds have been immensely helpful to me in locating government parks of which I'm partial. BTW, many of Florida's State Parks are excellent.
Good Sam's offers numerous services. While I don't find membership to be beneficial, many do. I do have membership with Passport America which saves me a lot of money each year. But, I full-time, use them during transit, and can live with the restrictions. Your choice.
I get many of the basics at Wal-Mart and shop online for specialty items I might need or want. Occasionally, I'll shop at Camping World or a dealership.
Just under the big RV.NET at the top of the page is a link for Beginning RVing. Click on that and do some reading.
Also, use the search block. There is a lot of information available.
If you have never used your RV, try to set it up in your yard or driveway and spend a few nights trying all the systems.
As silly as it might sound, the book "RVing for Dummies" really does contain a lot of usefull information for beginners. Remember that all of us were beginners at one time or another.
Go to Camping World in person or GoodSamClub.com and purchase a "Trailer Life Directory" and start dreaming about all of the places you are going to go.

My only advice would be to not over buy before you have spend a wkend in your TT. Take a pad and pen with you to write down what you will need then buy it.
You will need bedding, linens, cooking pots/pans, paper plates, glasses, cups, serving ware, paper towels, toilet paper (don't waste your money on RV toilet paper!), bath soap, shampoo, bathmat, cleaning supplies etc just like you use at home.
I did buy the following for my 5er before I took posession (I just got mine the last of Nov): sewer hose, white hose for your fresh water, those thingys you place under your sewer hose (can't think of the name right now),garden hose for black tank flush, a tote to store sewer things in, tote to store hoses in and then I got a tote for misc. things.
All but the surge protector I got at Walmart.
Unless you like cleaning a lot which I don't I got indoor shoes that only are worn in my 5er. I take my outdoor shoes off at the door and switch. It does cut way down on dirt traffic and you don't have to sweep as often. I am solo but I do have to go out with the dog a lot so I got quick slip ons for that.
Here is what I got while spending a month in mine after I got it. A small vacuum cleaner (I got the small tank Eureka some people like the Shark and it stores in the bottom of the closet easily) at Walmart and a Swiffer for the floor in the kitchen and bath. I went to a carpet store and bought a remnet, cut a piece out of it and goes from in front of the door across the stairs to the fridge. I got as close to the color of the carpet as I could get.
I went to Lowes and got an area rug to protect the carpt in the living area that is beautiful just in case someone spills or the dog should happen to get sick on the carpet. At Walmart I also got 3 small throw rugs for the steps going to the bedroom and 1 goes in the hall in front of the bath...these are all high traffic areas.
I think the most important thing I got was a notebook and clear sleeves and put all my manuals for everyting in the sleeves in the notebook. This keeps them all in 1 place, easy to store and easy to find if you have any questions about your water heater, furnace, etc.
This ia a lot of info but thought I would share what I needed. Have fun getting your supplies but most of all have fun camping!

PS I did get the colasable dish pan and dish drainer from Camping World and they just slip in the side of the cabinet under the kitchen sink. From Walmart get one of those pads that goes under the dish drainer. These 3 are great!
I got a lot of stuff at Walmart & some things at Bass Pro and some I had extras of already. In a pinch, through Amazon & delivered to the campground. LOL!
I pretty much duplicated what I use most in the kitchen & it stays in the MH. It has it's own towels, sheets & blankets and we keep plenty of clothes in it too. During camping season, I'll leave canned & dry food in it and about the only thing we need to pack is fresh food.
Some of what you need/want depends on how you camp. If you go to one place & stay for several days, you might want more "yard stuff" (chairs, tables, canopy, stoves, lanterns..etc). If you stay on the move & do a lot of sight seeing, you might not need all that. By the time you drag it all out & set up, it's time to pack it all back up!
