One thing to consider before tinting your windows is the change in interior light. Our previous rig (93 Foretravel) had fairly dark tinting that made the interior too dark for us.

benjamin, I think you have a trailer so the tint is up to you, I can't find one state that regulates that, on MoHos it is different from state to state. In CA you can black out all the windows excep the drivers and passengers side windows, those cannot be any darker than they came from the factory. I believe CA allows vehicles from other states though.

Hi All.
We have the very Dark Limo Tinting on all of our windows, except for the Windshiel and Drivers and Passengers window. Yes, the Darker you go, the less light gets in. But we really like it this way. As no one, period can see inside lour Motorhome durnig the daytime. As wiht any type of Tinting, you need to close your Curtains at night or they can see inside very easily. The Dark Limo Tinting does help quite a bit with the heat issues. We don't think it is to dark inside for us, anyways. Its not like we have to turn on the lights durning the day time. But its also great for if you want to take a little nap during the day time also. We really like the Privicy it gives us durning the day time. Would do it again in a heart beat. It also helps to keep anything from Fading from the Sun also, if you ger the right type of Window Tinting. We sure like ours. Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill

I've been looking into coating my F250 windows. The Gila brand (and probably others) offers two primary grades: one tints but doesn't address UV, and the slightly higher cost grade eliminates 99% of UV light. Both grades offer varying degrees of tinting.
I highly recommend insisting on the UV elimination, as UV is the primary cause of fading of fabrics and drying out and cracking of wood and plastics, plus UV (which is the part of light that leads to skin tanning and burning) is widely thought to lead to skin cancer. UV is lifetime cumulative, so my Dermatologist told me.

Gila is a brand made by Llumar, who makes some of the best tint out there. Gila is not their best tint. It is their cheapest tint. Most Llumar dealers won't intall it.

I did my older Aljo 5ver myself with the Gila tint. It took me about a day to do it....made sure the windows were clean and used a lot of soap to install. Cut the tint to match the outside windows and installed on the inside. Came out great! Traded it in on another 5ver 4 years later and the dealer thought it was done real well.
