Just checked the KOA near New York City web site.
They list a " $5.00 Resort Fee" per day on their reservation page.
Does anyone know what this is for?
Does it get me something extra?
Thanks
Nick

They 'soaked' up for that at the KOA in Astoria, Or.
It's for the use of the facilities like the swing set and jungle bounce and for the "free" pancake breakfast that they advertised...
We said we didn't want to swing or bounce or eat pancakes but they said that the Resort fee was required..
It was late, we were tired, we paid the fee, we stayed one night and moved on.

We had the same experience 3 yrs. ago. Paid over $60 for 1 nights rest. Very nice KOA for children. We just had no kids with us. O Well, just money, enjoyed the rest and moved on.

Have seen this in a couple of KOAs - seems like they are trying to make it look like their rates don't go up, there is just this new "resort fee."

Well, you do know what KOA actually stands for, right?

I've often wondered how these camp grounds became "Resorts".
Every CG "Resort" I've stayed at were no better than regular campgrounds.

I don't mind the $5.00 extra a night if the cg is nice, usually the so called resort is already exspensive so what's $5.00 more...

Got ripped off at one KOA, will never stay at one again. Rates are over the top, and they're no nicer than most others.

The KOA in Harper's Ferry charged a resort fee. It included among other things WIFI. IMHO it is for things other CGs include in their price, but it allows KOA to quote a lower price then add on this "Resort fee".
Unfortunately there wasn't any other CG close to Harper's Ferry.
