Mine has climbed a little since the trailer was new. It's now 6.5 and I punch it up to 7.5 when going through the Rockies.

My instructions said to drive in a safe area at 25 MPH and fully engage the trailer brakes using the manual lever. If they lock up, then back the setting down until they don't lock-up... My Ford controller locks up at 8 and not at 7, so I drive at 7..

Test it on a gravel road so it is easy to see when the wheels lock up.

Mine is set to 9. Does not lock the wheels at that.
If I remember, I will dial it down a little on wet roads. Don't want the brakes locking up on wet pavement and having the 5er come around.

6.9 with the Bias set at 2. P-3 controller with hydraulic disk brakes on the trailer.
That way the brakes don't break anything.

Ford IBC. Currently set at 7.
My last trailer I had to run it at 10. It was about time for brakes when I sold it.
