Just bought a heated mattress pad for the MH. Then, I remembered why I hadn't bought one before.....the memory foam pad. Can I use the pad with the foam or should I remove the memory foam pad? I'm thinking I will need to remove it, but I really do like it! Thanks for any input.

Not for a trailer, but we bought a heated mattress pad and had it on top of our memory foam pad and had no problems. Wife wanted it, used it for a while and then we switched beds from queen to king and no longer use the pads. I repeat, we had not problems with the heated mattress pad.

Betty, we have been using that exact setup for several years now without any problems. When we have hookups, sliding into that warm, soft bed is one of the days best part!

We are set up with the heated pad on top of the memory foam, but first we have a regular mattress pad over the memory foam and then the heated mattress pad on top of that. When we were asking the same question we were told the heat from the pad would not damage the foam, but the softness or give in the foam could in time cause problems with the wires in the pad breaking. 6 years later and no problems.

I've used a memory foam pad on our heated mattress from day one (moved it from previous RV) with no problems. Not QUITE the same thing but not that much different either.

I've had no problems with combining a heated mattress pad and memory foam for 8 yrs. Being a full-timer, I use mine a lot.

Thanks for all the quick responses! Still have one more question--under the memory foam or on top of it? We have one of the 2 inch ones. I'm thinking on top, but not sure.
Again thanks this is a great group of people!

Went back and reread--seems everyone is saying on top. Doesn't pay to read too fast! Our memory foam has a cover on it so I guess I will just put the heated pad on that. Again thanks...........Betty

Hi All.

We have also used a "Memory Foam Pad" with an "Electric Heateing Pad" and with an "Electric Blanket" also for many years now with no issues at all. However, we do have an "Over-Stuffed Mattress Pad" over the top of the Memory Foam Pad, and the Mattress. This helps to keep you cooler in the summer months, and you won't sweat at all. Its a great combonation to have. We have a 2 inch Memory Faom Pad with a 4lb Density. The higher the Density the more comfortable the Memory Foam Pads are. We even use this same set-up at home, on our Cal-King Bed also. Yes, qwe are very big fans of Memory Foam Pads, espically if you have a very bad back as I do. Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill
