Has anybody had any luck with air ride? I don't mean the air bags that go above your springs. I'm interested in the air ride that you use after removing your springs.
If you've used them, do they make the truck ride better?

I've had Link air on my 450 for a few years. It helps with the loaded ride, but unloaded, not so much. The bags are not adjustable.

I had Link Air ride on my Chevy 4500 the same similar system that can be put on the 3500HD. My Link air ride on the 4500 was automatic adjusting and auto leveling. Don't know if the 3500HD system is the same.. The good ride came from the air ride seats.. The air ride will take a lot of the harsh shock from the ruff roads but its want make the ride better. It will make the 5th wheel absorb less shock. Happy Trails...

I have the Firestone R4Tech on my Dodge 2500. It works great. It uses level control valves to automatically add or subtract air pressure to maintain a set bed level. When I hitch up to my fiver the truck never moves. Stays at the same height when weight is added. When empty it softens the ride to more like a 1/2 ton. The system also has shock absorbers tied to he air system. As the pressure goes up the shocks stiffen.
It's not what some would call a "full air system" since it has a single leaf spring. But it give the suspension the same geometry as factory.

FWIW too, contact both Good Year and Firestone directly to see what they say/offer as they make the air bags used by semis. You will still need a spring of some sort to attach the axle to the frame.

I have a talon air ride on a 2004 3500 dodge cummins. ther is over 100k on the system with no trouble. Do a search and there should be some info on line. It was sold by a US company that sold it to a company in Ontario. Good luck
