I worked for cummins Ct for 40 years, filter minders are same as idiot lights they are not accurate. Yes going to long between changes may cause the filter to come apart. They may be expensive but a leak in the intake system from filter to the turbo will cause engine damage. 8 ounces of dust will take out rings. $81 for a filter is a lot cheaper than an overhaul.

Change the filter every three years?? If you only have a 100 hours on it you still change it in 3 years?? If you use a quality filter it will not come apart. Read the instructions that come with the filter, it will tell you what the intial reading should be on the filter minder. Anything over that is a problem in the intake system. My filter has a 5" vacuum new and that is what the minder showed. If you change the filter too soon you lose filtration. Read the paperwork that comes with the filter, it will tell you that most people on here are wrong.

I had a Monaco tech recommend that the filter be changed every 3 years due to possible deterioration from heat, moisture or other factors and the catastrophic results if it did. I figure for the small price Speedco charges, I will follow the Monaco techs recommendation.
What air filter do you get at speedco for $6o? They have charged me that much for a fuel filter. I would like to know the filter number so I can call the speedco I use to use and see what they say.

You know what I have for a coach and what it uses for a filter, so you can do anything you want. I have the receipts to back up my statement, but you call me a liar on anything I post, so have at it.

I have a 08 ISL 425 and use Filter 1 for my filters. The filter I got last summer cost me 78.48 with free shipping. Try this site:
http://www.filter1.com/. They have a way for you to look up the Wix filter number for your application. A Wix came on my coach and the replacement was the same filter.

Agree whole heartedly on everything you said. Just wish the coach filter was as easy to change as all my other vehicles and in a cleaner atmosphere to do so than down under the coach and above the muffler. I generally try to spray wash under there the best I can when ever changing the air filter and dryer filter. I've changed them both in the past trying to be very careful cleanwise which always scares me when a shop says they can change the air dryer filters by removing the top of it without removing the dryer from the coach. Too close quarters under there to not be knocking dirt down from someplace.
