Earlier this evening was poking around underneath the front axle and noticed that the two large springs that a major part of the Steer Safe unit are missing from the passenger side. Prior to purchasing the Winnie and seeing the dealer info in the owners kit...I had never heard of it...my question is DOES IT WORK? If so, I'll get the springs...if not...well, I won't worry about it...THANKS for all input!!!

I put Steer Safe on 3 motorhomes, 2 Class A's and one Class C. Much easier to keep steady on the highway and a definite plus in case of tire failure. Just my 2 cents worth

I'm for all the technology you can get on your side when on the road. Are the springs something that could be purchased locally, or must they be bought from Steer Safe?

Take a spring from the other side and take it to Fastenal. They should be able to match it up (both size and spring rate).

Just contact Steer Safe. You might get free bee,s. Anything but the right spring will not work as it should. I had steer Safe on my class A,s.

It was smart to get the set of four so they are better matched.

The system seems to save a lot of wear on front end steering parts. Our 1992 P30 chassis has 108K miles on the OEM parts and it is still tight but it has been properly greased.

Most car owners seem to want to over steer a MH and then are buying bell cranks, etc. Ours on a level road can go up to a quarter mile without a hand on the steering wheel staying in its lane but it did come with the correct WB/overhang for the chassis/house combo.

Some MH's by design will never handle like a dream.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did 4 new springs set you back? I am missing one also and want to replace it, but would rather do a matched set like you did.
