Am I crazy for considering this? We currently have a 2012 Ventanna LE that we bought in May of 2011. We like the rig but there are some things about the floor plan that we would change. Also would like to upgrade some things. That being said, I found a 2005 Mountainaire with 38000 miles on it with all the upgrades id like and a floorplan that better suits us. It has been well taken care of. I could sell the Ventanna LE and buy this one and have some money to put in the bank for travel. What do you think?

Better late than never, but it's harder to sell a rig than it is to buy one. It's a buyer's market, not a seller's. Having owned two DP's when I only needed one for a lot longer than I'd hoped, I would sell your current rig first and then buy something else. The rig you've found may be gone, but there's plenty of other ones out there. You may be better off trading and taking the hit now instead of in a year when you still own the 2012 that is now worth 20% less.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

That first year depreciation is hard to take. I just went through the buy new and sell two years later. Make sure that you think through this one as you are going to lose bigtime to buy a 7 year old rig?

Doesn't sound like a hard decision for me. Sell the newer before massive depreciation and get the one you like.
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

I went back and re-read some of your older posts - back on April 22, 2011 you wrote:
"I wanted to say thanks again for all input. We bought a 2012 Newmar Ventana DP from Beckley's. They are a great dealer. We got the floorplan we want & good Lord willing it will be the last rig we buy ! Thanks again everyone!"
Just take a moment to remember how you felt back then about your new coach. Now ask yourself what has changed since then? Could be several different things - only you know for sure. I'm not saying do it or don't do it, just saying it is an important decision.
