FYI- bring something long to hit the button at the cat scales, it is set for the truckers to reach out their window and push. We use our windshield scraper. If you want to unhitch on the platform, make sure there are no trucks waiting in line behind you or they will get really impatient with you really quickly.

Your local p-nut coop or seller may weigh it for you. Our local big watermelon grower keeps his scale powered on over the weekend for the community to use.
Ask around your community if there are no truck stops nearby.

Thanks to many posts here, when I went to weigh my previous TV at a CAT scale, I made up a broom handle with a piece of foam rubber duct taped to the end. Used it to hit the intercom button. Worked well.

I stood on the left front tire of the truck. BTW: the button in not push to talk. It rings a buzzer inside. They then turn on the intercom, which is two way (kind of works like the intercom for the drive through window at your local fast food joint).

I always use our local landfill, it's free. Works great, and the guys seem to like it when I pull in with my trailer! They always ask questions, give advise, chat with me.

I hate (not really)to crank this thread up but being relatively new...one year anniversary of TT ownership on 3-31-12 I found new info here. I did originally what five'er suggested with a small twist...weighed the TV only, loaded as for a trip at the local Pilot, then stopped at the same Pilot with TV and TT ready for the trip. then the simple math subtract weight 1 from weight 2 and it gives me a very general idea of totals. I need / want to get the individual axels and wheels though and thats where I found new info here. I am also somewhat rural and have a farm co-op near..never thought of that b4, also have a couple of DOT weigh stations near, one of which is often closed - also new info to me...so thanks to all for providing some new data.
