We'll be moving from Ca to Or in a couple months. Does anyone know if there are limits to how much ammo you can transport? Where can I find that information?
The moving company can take the guns my dad handed down to me, but they can't take the ammunition.

Thanks

What does this have to do with RVing. Ask it on a NRA site.

You can probably find out from a Federal Firearms dealer.

I can't help you with the area you are going to be traveling but here is a web site that should help you find any info you might need. It is geared more to handguns and concealed carry but gives links to all state web sites that will get you on your way. Hope this helps, Jim.

Some just like to comment. I especially like the ones who say " I don't know so I can't say.

While off topic, I have found that this group is extremely helpful on a wide range of topics, so I really don't see a problem with the post.
We always have the option of skipping past it.....

To the O/P...I guess I'd suggest calling a gun dealer, and ask if they can tell you the answer. Maybe call the Cops, but use a pay phone, and don't talk for more than 40 seconds

Heres a hit I got from an internet search...

LINK

Ammunition falls under Division 1.4S Hazardous Substances for the purpose of carriage. If checked aboard a Passenger Airplane...you'd be restricted to 11 lbs of ammunition per passenger.

If you're carrying less than that...I'd say no worries. If you're carrying a large cache of ammunition...you may be be violating D.O.T. regulations pertaining to carriage of hazardous substances.

Is that an option from the factory or standard equipment?

IN a "General RVing Forum" in my opinion it is on topic... Many hunters are RV'ers, just like a lot of Fishermen are, two main activities of Campers Ive known since 1935 when I began camping...

So, unless the topic is specifically prohibited in the rules like some thing, why should it be "off topic."
