Seems like some towns frown on RV parking in store parking lots. When we stay at Cracker Barrel the manager tells us "Don't ask and we won't tell". Good for them. We always eat there when we can and buy at Wally World whenever we overnight there. Nice people.

A cell phone is another story -- have to figure out how to roam with my Canadian phone and not have to hook up to Verizon. But CB was gratious enough to let me use their phone and I didn't have to use up air-time.

Just stop in a Walmart and get a Tracfone.

We're to big for the RV slots anyway (60') so we just park as far out in the lot as possible. It is the rare, small CB where we cannot find a spot. We eat at CB all the time - on a trip from AZ to eastern TN last year I think we hit 20 in a week! Don't overnight there as much as we did before we retired, but still do once in a while.
Always room to park and consistently good food and service.

Getting a cell phone is another story. Have one from Canada and is not set up for roaming is the US. Next time I'll check ahead and be prepared.
Using the Cracker Barrel phone did save me a lot of air time though.

Next morning I called again and was on the CB phone for another 30 minutes waiting for GS to find assistance.
Finally they said nobody was immediately available and they would call me back
You got this response from GS, and you're still a member??? Have you heard of CoachNet? Sorry, but I would never tolerate that kind of poor customer service!

You called Good Sam and they told you they couldn't help you, twice!?! And that's a good thing?!? If I called AAA and they told me that, they'd lose my business immediately.
I'm glad it all worked out for you, but I'd be pretty pissed with my ERS if they did that to me.

When on the road, I always look for a CB to spend the night a get a good breakfast. I feel much safer there than at wal-mart, and I don't like wal-mart anyway.
