Will be going to Denver in early April to a reunion, planning on driving RV out and staying for some touring in late April and all of May. Thinking about heading south first into New Mexico and Arizona then north to Utah and where ever the road takes us, weather permitting.

Any comments, or am I asking for trouble?

Just do your first touring at the south end of your trail.

You can still get snow in April, just watch the weather. May could be better.

Looks like a lot less snow this year than last so many of the northern things may be open sooner. Going south will help, but Going to the Sun did not open last year until early July.

Denver, may or may not have some snow in April. Going West after that will be no problwm as most of the snowirds will be gone by then and it will be hot depending on how far South you venture.

People live in those areas year round and they nearly all drive. Enjoy the trip / Skip

Got some concern about finding open camp grounds.

We're also heading that direction mid-April/May....and had no trouble getting campground reservations in Colorado, then Utah.

If you look out your side window that might be us next to you. We are leaving from North Alabama in mid April and are pretty well taking the same route as you are. Plan to spend up to three months making the round trip. Have not made any reservations as of yet. Do we need any that early in the season?
