If there's no slides I'd take I-40 over from I-75 to I-26. Very nice drive.

It's been awhile since I've taken I-75 up into Ohio. Have diesel, will travel. Although I-75 is just slightly longer, I believe you'll encounter fewer grades than on I-77.
Up until 2 years ago, I traveled with a 4 season camper from NC/SC to Cleveland and Buffalo, NY on business during the winter. While weather was a factor, diesel made the job easier.

I've done the same trip many times in a car and in an RV using both routes, and prefer 75 to 40 to 26 to 20. Anything to avoid driving thru Charleston traffic.
As an aside, wouldn't you think that after all this time, they could get closer than 75 mi. to MB by Interstate? Its pretty well established as a vacation destination by now.
Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.

Depending on time of year and Myrtle Beach destination it may be much faster, to come through Georgetown then head north on 17 rather than down through either Lake City or Florence. If going to North MB then coming in on 9 is the best option.
