My class A motorhome has a hitch rating of 5000# with 500# tongue weight rating. I plan on towing a 4000# vehicle on a Kar Kaddy 3 car dolly with a dual receiver to also carry two bikes. The problem is my dual receiver has a rating of 4000#. This is a problem, right? Are there any 5000# dual recievers on the market?

Remove the hitch, take to welding shop, attach one of these to the hitch, either to the left or right side of the center receiver. Then put the bike rack into the new receiver.

I have one on my drivers and passenger side, where the hitch meets the frame supports. Drivers side for my dog cart, passenger side for my bike rack.

Golden has the right idea.

I was researching the dual hitch recently and could not find any that would work with a dolly. All that I found noted tow bar only.

My plan now is to weld a receiver like above to my dolly to mount the bike rack.

Welcome to the forum! Good luck!

Have you thought about putting the bikes on a rack on the back of the car?

I have a Advantage bike rack that clamps around the 2" hitch. Has worked well for 5 years. No mods needed to use with our Demco Dolly.

Good Morning

We use this clamp over bike rack:

It works well for us. (2 mtn bikes)

Thanks for the good ideas. I will be investigating what will work best for me.
