As a "Chrysler/Dodge/Ram/Jeep Engineer" you have to know Mopar makes Cat Back systems right? Changing your muffler will not have any effect on your warranty, other then they will no longer cover the muffler. BTW there are no Mopar up grades for the Ram HD CTD exhaust from Mopar, but they have a ton of goodies for the gas trucks.

If you are not worried about your warranty delete all of it and the motor will run forever.
The majority of issues the newer cummins are having is related to emissions.

By changing out the muffler on your 2011 truck will not yield the same sound as your 2005 truck. Simply because the DPF itself acts like a muffler.

Everyone is close. The biggest noise reducing element on the newer trucks is the VGT Turbo. I have a 5" Turbo Back Exhaust and it is still quiet.

A lot of truth there.
With the TBE mine at idle is barely louder than stock. Under load it is noticeably more vocal.

So, the general consensus is to just leave it alone. I am worried about warranty problems, I don't have an extra $6,000+ for a new Cummins!!

There will be no warranty problems, Mopar the parts division of Chrysler sells cat back systems for our vehicles. No they do not have a system for the Cummins, but other aftermarket companies do. If you want to change your muffler then do it. As long as you leave the emissions alone you are fine.

Been there, done that. I slipped in a straight pipe to see if there was any change. According to my ear, there was no change at any speed/load. My thoughts were that the cat, NOX and DPF filter all serve to quiet the exhaust down. The muffler is little more than a bigger straight pipe. There is nothing that really does anything. My guess is that Ram is required to put a muffler on to meet some reg and this is as little expense as they could come up with.
