Mostly I just don't worry about things like that. Bacteria are everywhere but we have good immune systems to protect us. However, I wouldn't eat from that dip the next day unless it were refrigerated.

Good point. I was thinking the same thing. Although it is a different topic...apparently our (say North American) immune system is much weaker than say 50-100 years ago....because everything in comparison is so clean.

Which is good (clean that is) and not so good (weaker immune systems)...I guess when you boil it all down....a ying and yang...or...a frick and frack...wait a minute...weren't they a vaudeville team from the '20's.

What I like is when you go to a buffet, and other patrons are coughing all over the food, or you notice people picking up the serving utensils with obvious dirt on their hands.

And this is exactly why American's go to third world countries and get sick while the natives all just fine. You have to get exposed to germs in order to build your immune system. That's the concept behind vaccines. They are made out of the germs.

Remember the old Sienfeld episode where George was accused of double dipping the dip? I still chuckle.

The stress associated by worrying about this sort of thing is probably much more unhealthy. In the end, something is going to get you so, what the hey?

My thoughts exactly.
