Norcold 1200 LRIM. Have had a fan installed for years. Yesterday I was moving the fan up the fins and I heard a "snap" and believe I got a little shock. Now there is absolutely NO POWER to the fridge. On the front panel there are no lights for power, mode, temp etc. and the fridge is not working. It is Saturday, I am MILES from Tallahassee and I'm sure Camping World techs not working on Saturday. Any suggestions?

JD, perhaps it would help if we had an idea of the things you've tried so far. Fuses? Circuit breakers? How about any circuit breakers on your inverter/converter? On my Allegro Bus the inverter had 2 circuit breakers and it took me a call to Tiffin to even find out they were there the 1st time I '"popped" one.

PS Thank you for your Service ( Retired Army)

Have checked the circuit breaker panels, GFIs and even the 5amp fuse in the back. Haven't looked at the inverter but as soon as it is daylight I will. Thanks for your reply

Squeakkos: do you mean the black cover? I thought there was only one 5-amp fuse under there

I assume you have the fan plugged in to an outlet. Check the power at the outlet. If you have no power, check for circuit breaker or possibly GFI. When you have resolved your problem, let me know about your fan that you have plugged in. I have this same unit including two recalls. Since the last recall for a fix for the first recall, it is working. I have not used it in real hot weather and was considering a fan to supplement the last recall.

I have also had power problems along the way and found the inverter tripped. I am still amazed at the power structure in a MH.

Heason: the fan is 12v with leads connected to the light. There is an alligator clip that hooks the fan to the fins in the back and a lead connected to the fins also

Master Chief you probably blew the 12VDC control power fuse and more than likely got hit with 12VDC also. You're going to have to hunt down the fuse. Not familiar with your coach so I can't help with where to look. Once you do find it don't replace it just yet. First you have to find the exposed wire that shorted. Naturally it's going to be in the back of the fridge probably as part of the fan you were working with. A bit a black tape should eliminate future problems.

Worst case scenario you cooked the control board but we'll think happy thoughts and not consider that prospect.

Your fridge should be cool enough for the next couple of hours but any long throw a bag of ice in the freezer and fridge sections. If you can find some dry ice for the freezer even better. You can run on ice indefinitely this time of the year even in Florida. Six months from now in the summer heat,,,,
